What a way to start your Sunday….. met up at The GlasFryn where tea, coffee & bacons baps were quickly consumed, then lovely pack walk through the Gwysaney Estate and back to the pub. As well as all the well behaved mutts on the walk we met horses, cows & a frog 🙂
Thank you to Kelly & Holly at the GlasFryn for organising the pack walk 🙂 £170 raised for Almost Home. Now that we have planning permission to build our new kennels we are going to need every penny!

Everyone meet our next poundie …. Narla!💔

This girl is heartbreaking and she one of the worst neglect cases we have seen a while!💔😓Narla is a 3 year old Chow Chow who was found dumped, it seems possibly by a breeder as others were found believed to be connected to her!💔

When we went to meet her, it was clear she needed that special AH touch. She couldn’t see, she was struggling to walk, extremely thin, dirty and very shut down!😓💔

We booked her straight in to our vets, via urgent appointment. It was clear from the straight this girl has suffered most of her life and it was slim chances of her surviving. 🤬😭

She was a super star, allowing us to test, scan and clean her up. We were sent home with medical and positive vibes that she would want to survive her abuse as an ex breeding bitch. As she was emotionally shut down it was hard to tell. 😓

We managed to find her a foster home and the rest was up to her. Thankfully, after a few long days, she was starting to understand she was safe and was eating and drinking! Allowing gentle ear rubs, learning about her surroundings. There’s still spirit in this girl!✔️💕

Now she’s enjoying small regular meals, taking her medications and enjoying company. She on tiny walks so help build muscle back up and had a check up where she had gained 3kg in a few days!❤️‍🩹

She has along way to go but we will keep you posted on her journey with us. Narla will be looking for a special place to call home when she’s ready. Which isn’t yet! 🥰

However the applications are open so you can apply but we will not be going through them until she tells us she’s ready!🏡

All medical issues will be covered by us. Once she’s fitter, she can started her vaccinations, be spayed and we can sort her eyes out. Which currently she’s on drops for but she is going to need double entropion on both eyes. Currently we are needing her to build strength and condition, she’s on antibiotics, steroids and eye drops. 💔❤️‍🩹

Everyone meet our next poundie … Kurt!💙

This lad came from the pound as no one came forward to claim him! He is 4 year old and a dinky frenchie!❤️‍🩹

He is a sweet lad who can be a tad shy to start with but quickly comes over for a fuss. Kurt has gone straight in to foster and is adapting well.👏

This lad is in foster with two older dogs and seems to be ok with other dogs. He is learning how walk on lead as we don’t feel he has been out much at all.🐾🐾

Kurt is brilliant in the car, you don’t know he’s there. He is happy travelling and happy to be handled too.💚

At the vets, he started his vaccinations, was flead and wormed. Also, received treatment for an eye infection. He is under weight at the moment but once he’s gain weight he will be booked in to be neutered. He was already mirco chipped. ✔️

We feel he could live with dog savvy children who understand he needs to trust them for a moment at first. We believe over time his character of a cheeky frenchie will come out. At the moment, he’s just decompressing and understanding what life is about! 🥰

Everyone meet our next resident …. Cooper and Parker!🤪

These crazy, yet very lovely lads arrived in our care full of life and personality. They are 4 years old and cocker spaniel crossed with a Labrador! Not for the faint hearted!🥰

We are going to be rehoming them separately due to them clearing not wanting to share anymore and between the team we feel this is best for both lads to blossom!✔️

Cooper - he is more red in colour. He is cheeky lad who is full of beans. Very clever and fully aware of what you want from him. Exercise getting more regular and with consistent constant input this lad is improving daily with his daily manners and understanding of the world!🙌

Parker - he is more of the creamy coloured lad and longer furred. He’s a little more calm but still full of it!🤪 Parker can be a bit more nervous at times but still takes everything in this stride!👏

Both lads are super friendly with everyone they meet. We are saying older, dog savvy children only due to their bounciness etc. ❤️‍🩹

They both travel well and know some basic commands. They are learning how to walk on lead properly and love to learn. These guys need their body and mind exercising!✔️

Both passed their vet checks, started their vaccinations and have been flead and wormed. They are booked in to be neutered and were already mirco chipped!👏

Please do share these lads so they can find their individual homes where their needs can be met and their whole personalities can blossom.🏡

Everyone meet our next resident …. Mowgli!❤️‍🩹

This little lad was sadly dumped at a very young age and it was touch and go as to whether or not he would survive when he arrived in our care. So we headed straight to the vets. 💔

At the vets he was fully assessed and examined. It was clear he needed medications on boards, decent food and warmth. Thankfully he had a foster lined up.🥰

Fast forward to now and he’s going from strength to strength daily. He is eating well, had a few baths and becoming a normal puppy! In foster he’s with other animals so is socialising and playing as pups should!👏🥳

Mowgli is only small, he was 2kg when he arrived. Thankfully he is gaining condition well! We believe he is going to be small to medium when fully grown… possibly a terrier / spaniel mix.🐾🐾

This lad is going up for adoption but we will not be going through the applications as of yet. You can apply and will be kept up to date via email as we go through the stages with him. We are looking for homes who have high energy dog experience, time and patience that puppy requires too. They aren’t for the faint hearted!😂💙

For now, he will remain in foster and have another vet check soon to see how well he’s doing and get an up to date plan moving forward!👏

Everyone meet our next resident … Knucksie!💚

This lad sadly came in to our care due to his owner being unable to care for him anymore. The family did try to keep him but sadly their households were too much for him! 💔This wasn’t an easy decision for them but it was the right one for Knucksie!❤️‍🩹

Since arriving in our care, he’s been a sweet lad who’s a little shy when he first meets you. However it doesn’t take long for you to win him over!🥰

Currently he’s in foster with a large breed lurcher and he’s adapted well. However he could live as only dog as well! He is happy to say hi or ignore others when out and about walking!🐶

Knucksie is 5 years old and a terrier mix. He is great at travelling and adores his walks! He walks well on lead and is always happy to go out on an adventure!🐾🐾

At the vets, he passed a full healthcheck and has started his vaccinations, been flead, wormed and booked in to be neutered! ✔️

In the home, he has been good house guest and in typical terrier style explored every inch! He is housetrained and loves a fuss after a busy day!💙
