AUTUMNAL GERIATRIC CHECK UP
As we start thinking about going into winter, now is a good time to have a thorough check up of our horses and ponies over 15 years old. As our horses get older, winter can be tough maintaining weight and condition, which can occur for several reasons, including underlying health conditions, dental problems, high worm burdens or cushings. As they get older, other issues can also occur including osteoarthritis, which if left unmanaged can be very painful, especially in the colder months.
It is for this reason we are running three different geriatric MOT packages through September to November, OVER TWO VISITS, where a management plan can be created and then reviewed and reassessed at the second visit, to ensure our golden oldies are getting the best care they deserve.
This includes discussing pain management and weight management, checking bloods (as well as rechecking these if needed) for any underlying conditions causing weight loss, checking if your horse has cushings, checking your horse for worms and examining and performing thorough dental exams, allowing us to the create a plan which works best for you and your horse which is then reviewed and altered if necessary at the second visit.

PACKAGE 1 - BASIC MOT
PACKAGE 2 - MOT, Dental and Cushings bloods
PACKAGE 3 - MOT, Cushings test and full bloods
PACKAGE 4 - MOT, Dental, Cushings bloods and Full bloods
Note there will also be a discount on packages 3 and 4 if repeat bloods are not necessary on the second visit)
