💜 THE IMPORTANCE OF NAIL LENGTH!!
When nails are too long and they touch the floor, they push back into the nail bed. The dog will therefore change their posture to rock back to lift the nails in an attempt to relieve the pressure. This causes aches and pains in the leg which is why you may see your dog chewing his leg and nails. Due to the dog now only walking on the metacarpal pad (the big pad) the dog now has less concussion absorption due to rocking off the digital pads (the 4 little pads). Long term this could cause arthritis in various areas of the dogs body depending where they are compensating.

If you're unsure if your dogs nails are too long - stand them square and the nails should NOT be touching the floor - if they are - pop me a message to book for a nail appointment - it's only £10 for a nail session! Tx

IMPORTANT NOTICE!! ‼️

Over the next few weeks the side of the parlour will be completely open as we are having the fence replaced. This means we are exposed to my lovely neighbours so PLEASE do NOT come down the drive early, please wait until your appointment time (as most of you know through the T&Cs) and if your dog barks, please try your best to keep them as quiet as possible!
If someone else is bringing your pooch, please pass on this information. 🥰

✔️ SUBSEQUENT SESSIONS (max 30min)

⏰ We limit each session to 30mins, so your dog may require a few sessions to loosen the hardened plaque and tartar effectively. Results are impressive, but patience is necessary!

⛔ If we detect severe tartar that may be concealing holes, painful exposed roots, or loose teeth, we will refer your dog to a vet before proceeding. Emmi-pet is not a substitute for necessary veterinary procedures. If a vet has recommended tooth extractions or a dental scale and polish, we cannot perform Emmi-pet treatments until after the necessary care has been provided.
