The boss man is poorly!
Max has managed to get kennel cough! As it is highly contagious my boys won't be on walks for a while which means we may need to juggle things around a little so they aren't on their own at home for too long.
A little about kennel cough....
🐾 Kennel cough is an upper respiratory infection that causes a dog to have a loud and dry honking cough (often like the sound of a goose).
🐾 They may also experience a runny nose, sneezing, lethargy or a slight fever.
🐾 Kennel cough spread easily through the air via coughs and sneezes or also by sharing items like toys and water bowls.
🐾 It is also worth mentioning that the kennel cough vaccination does not completely prevent your dog from catching kennel cough but it can make the symptoms much milder and shorten the recovery time.
🐾 Our lovely vet also advised that a dog that has been vaccinated is 15% less likely to spread the bacteria.
Since it was confirmed that Max has kennel cough we have completely disinfected the van, the water bowls and the leads to ensure none of our Keedys K9s family can catch it.
If your pooch starts displaying a loud, honking cough please let us know immediately as they will not be able to join us on the group walks and we will need to carry out additional dusinfection protocols. We may be able to offer house visits depending on staff availability.
