At Harmony Trails HQ, we're passionate about supporting local independent businesses.

We've been getting to know the local shops since our relocation to the area and want to give a shout out to these shops who are working hard to keep our pets healthy and enriched.

The Pet Stop - Grampian in Ellon
Longleys country store in Maud

All of these establishments have demonstrated excellent customer service whenever we've called in, and are clearly devoted to their mission. Molly and Gulvain have certainly been happy when we've been to any of the above!

Let's continue to support these local businesses where we can.

Today we welcomed the young Kane, Cane Corso and his human to Harmony Trails and the world of Mantrailing. It’s safe to say they loved finding their Trail Layer and can’t wait to be back on the trails with us soon!

We love how satisfyingly tired the dogs are when they get home after a trailing session.

This afternoon, Gulvain and I were blessed to meet Molly and her Mum at Paw Seasons Paddock. The dogs played beautifully together and we had a sneak peak of what is to come at this incredible dog park. So much thought has gone into making it a sensory experience for both humans and their best friends.

We can’t wait for opening day, and look forward to holding some of our amazing sniffing sessions here, too!

Gulvain and I are away down south in the midst of the heatwave. Despite some activities being cancelled he’s done lots of chilled sniffing and I’ve been ensuring I have the latest knowledge and skills to keep both you and your dogs safe.

Mantrailing is an Outdoor activity, so it is imperative we are able to keep each other safe. Should an incident occur we have the practical skills to manage until further assistance is available.

If you are a dog owner, canine professional or animal lover I recommend you attend a course like this.

I hope I never have to use these skills, but if I do, at least I’m prepared.

Our Introduction to Mantrailing workshops are the perfect activity for you and your dog to begin the game of Hide n Seek together this summer.

Starting from July in Buchan and the Broch.

Mantrailing is a dog sport using their epic sense of smell to find the human who has hidden away with the dogs favourite reward.

The dog’s sense of smell is better than our eyesight as humans. So it makes sense to start them in a game which harnesses their most powerful sense. The science of scent continues to evolve.

If you’re looking for an activity to tire your dog out, a 15 minute trail can be as much hard work as a couple of hours walk. Sniffing is the perfect answer to the summer heat for having a peaceful home with your dog.
