☀️ 70 DEGREES FOR YOU IS 120 DEGREES FOR THEM. 🐾

When the weather heats up, our dogs count on us to keep them safe. Since they can’t sweat like we do, heatstroke can happen fast.

Swipe through for the essential do’s and don’ts of hot-weather walks! ➡️

☀️ THE DO’S:

Test the pavement: Place the back of your hand on the asphalt for 7 seconds. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for their paws.

Walk at cooler times: Head out early in the morning or later in the evening.

Bring water: Pack a portable bowl and offer small, frequent sips.

Choose shade: Stick to grass, dirt trails, or tree-lined paths whenever possible.

❌ THE DON’TS:

Don’t shave double coats: Breeds like Huskies and Goldens rely on their coats for natural insulation.

Don’t use tight muzzles: Nylon muzzles can stop dogs from panting properly, which is how they cool down.

Don’t forget the humidity: High humidity makes panting much less effective.

Don’t push through: If your pup sits down or wants to turn back, listen to them.

Plus an assortment of dog leads, just in case the owner forgot to leave their lead out.

A never-ending supply of black poo bags and wipes (just in case)!
