A September Summary

🍂 As the days get shorter, we’re saying goodbye to summer and welcoming the new season! Here’s a quick update on what’s been happening around the field:

🌱 Ground Update: The field is slowly recovering from the extreme drought and summer heatwaves. While some cracks remain, we can’t wait to see the grass turning lush and green again soon!

🚗 More Room to Park: We’ve expanded our car park outside the field, giving you plenty more parking space and much more room to turn around comfortably. Remember, there’s space for one vehicle to park inside the field!

🛠️ Field Maintenance & Upgrades: We’ve removed one piece of apparatus that had become a bit rickety, replacing it with a brilliant new “tyre table” handcrafted by Mike! We’ve also installed an old field trough outside the fence, which we’ll soon be filling with autumn planting and spring bulbs.

⏰ Seasonal Opening Hours: Our opening times are adjusting with the changing daylight. We are currently open from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM, but closing times will continue to reduce throughout October as the evenings draw in.

🍁 Ready for a crisp autumn run? Check field availability and book your slot via our website! 👇

Hello August!

☀️ As the summer sun stays warm, we’re keeping Bunsty Dog Field safe, comfortable, and fun for your four-legged family members. Here is what you need to know for your visits this month:

⏰ Summer Opening Hours: Our extended opening hours mean you can safely exercise your dogs during the coolest parts of the day - early mornings (from 5am) and late evenings (last booking 8:30pm)!

⛱️ Shade & Hydration: Beat the heat under our shade sail, and refresh your pups using our on site water tap.

🌾 Ground Conditions Note: Due to the recent dry weather and drought conditions, the ground is very dry and crack lines have formed across the field. Please watch your step and keep an eye on your dogs while they run to ensure safe zoomies! Please also adhere to our no smoking policy in these extremely dry conditions.

🐕 Keep your dogs safe and cool while giving them the off-lead freedom they love. Book your slot today via our website: www.bunstydogfield.co.uk

🥳 Bunsty Dog Walking is 2 🎉

🎈 It’s been two whole years since I left full time teaching and began professional dog walking!

🐕 My second year of business has been filled with many dog paws and milestones that I am incredibly proud of, including:

✨ October 2025: Taking the leap to become fully self-employed!
🚐 February 2026: Getting the BN11STY van up and running to increase capacity, efficiency and safety!
🐶 But the best part? Continuing to work with so many fantastic doggos (and their owners!).

🐾 I am forever grateful for the ongoing support of my small business and for clients trusting me with their dogs.

❤️ Thank you for these past two years and here’s to many more adventures together!

Your dog’s safety is always our top priority! Whether this is providing a safe, secure space for them run and play in, or by managing bookings to ensure the field can be used in the coolest parts of the day so no dogs are put at risk during a heatwave. We are always happy to help and value everyone’s custom and support for a local, family run business! Thank you 💚🐾🌱

🙋‍♀️🐶 Meet Kirsty (and Jed!)
Before trading the classroom for dog leads, Kirsty was a primary school teacher for over 10 years. She launched her dog-walking business nearly two years ago and grew the business to operating full-time in October 2025.

🐕‍🦺 Often joined on walks by her own black Labrador, Jed, Kirsty’s priorities are building dogs’ confidence, developing friendships, and expanding their worlds, one walk at a time.

🌟🌱 Double the Fun… Kirsty now proudly runs two businesses:
• Bunsty Dog Field: A secure dog walking field, available for private hire in Gayhurst (MK16). This is perfect for high-energy runners, dogs working on recall, or those that need a safe, enclosed space away from others to thrive.
• Bunsty Dog Walking: Offering group walks for the social dogs and solo walks for pups who need one-on-one attention.
• Best of Both: Kirsty runs secure field play sessions for client dogs, bringing together sociable dogs for hour long play sessions in a secure space. Not allowed off lead in the wild? Our play sessions are perfect for them!

🛡️🐾 Safety & Peace of Mind First
Your dogs are family, and their safety is our absolute priority. When they’re with us, you get total peace of mind:
🚐 Secure Transport: Pups travel in a dedicated van fitted with a secure crate transport system.
✅ The Credentials: Fully Insured • Canine First Aid Trained • DBS Checked • Registered Member of the Modern Dog Walkers’ Association.

📍Our Roaming Zones
Kirsty proudly look after dogs across Olney, Newport Pagnell, and all the surrounding north Bucks villages - from Castlethorpe and Hanslope through to Stoke Goldington and Emberton (and everywhere in between!).

📲 Want to join the Bunsty pack? Spaces fill up fast! Drop us a message today to chat about your pup’s needs or to secure a spot.

It’s looking like it’s going to be a scorching bank holiday weekend, so it’s a good idea to familiarise yourself with what temperatures are safe for your dog☀️🐶

Every year our vets treat hundreds of heat stroke cases and, heartbreakingly, some end in tragedy. Many are unfortunately a result of owners not knowing the dangers of exercising their dogs in temperatures to hot for them to handle.

Heat-related illnesses are almost always preventable. DONT TAKE THE RISK and make sure your pet isn’t overheating in the sun.

Temperatures over 24 degrees will be uncomfortable for most of our dogs, so make sure you are walking them at the coolest times of the day or simply keep them at home and give them some mental stimulation and enrichment things to do instead.

If you think your dog may be suffering from heat stroke, contact your vet immediately! If out-of-hours, find your nearest emergency vet.
