#4750/MATILDA - AVAILABLE IN WEST SUSSEX

Female 5 years
DOGS: RATHER NOT
CATS: OK
KIDS: 6+

Gorgeous, love bumblebee and unashamedly the biggest people pleaser we've seen for a very long time Matilda (was Hippo), is looking for her forever family!

She has been in foster care for 4 months after being listed for rehoming from home in the North. She is an absolute darling of the highest calibre who's living her best life when she is either having a cuddle or snoring fast asleep on the couch.

Matilda has shown aggression towards dogs of both sexes in kennels and whilst this wasn't terrible, she would need to be rehomed alone.

Our kennel cat hates all the dogs and usually stays well out of the way, but she took a shine to Matilda who appeared indifferent to her. We had a recent opportunity to see what she was like in a foster home, during a period of short term foster and she was completely delightful with the foster cat. Her foster mum saw her kissing and cuddling up to the cat. So cats would be more than welcome in her new home.

Matilda simply adores children and is very gentle around them, loving being in the middle of the action. She would be best placed with kids aged 6+

Matilda is extremely friendly to all people and she will display an off-the-scale level wiggle in sheer delight at the prospect of a love and a fuss. She will jump up to people and as she is a big bottomed girl, you do need to brace yourself!

Matilda travelled for 3.5 hours into foster care and has been on shorter car journeys during her stay with us, all with no fuss and bother. She is an extremely chilled girl.

Matilda will wet her blankets and bedding on the floor at nighttime but doesn't mess on the sofa or other furniture. Her previous owner commented that she may do this if there is a throw on it. She will go out for a wee and a p**p.

Matilda was comfortably left for a couple of hours in the foster home and doesn't bark, we havent checked how she is being left for any longer but would imagine she will just sleep as it's her favourite pasttime.

Matilda absolutely will not walk under any circumstance. This may improve in time but for now (after about 10 feet) the brakes are on and she'd far rather roll over with her legs in the air in protest to emphasise just how much of a "nope!" that really is. Matilda will need a decent garden space instead.

Matilda would really enjoy family life and that may well be what she needs to encourage her to be more active. In a very quiet home, she would simply sleep all day.

She has chronic dry eye and is a pickle getting the drops in (runs away). This can be a two man job which we will show you how to do if you've yet to experience this level of Bulldog belligerence! You can gently capsize her and she will lay there and let you put them in when upside down. She can have allergy related skin issues but these are mild and on the whole controlled with a good diet. She had BOAS surgery last year and her breathing is good now. She has put on a lot of weight prior to admission and definitely needs to lose a few pounds and can suffer from ID cysts which are easily treated with over the counter creams, at home. Care must be taken not to overfeed her particularly as we are most definitely in "chilled/lazy" gear most of the time and not great at getting the steps in!

Matilda is definitely one of the most affectionate and loving Bulldogs we've had the pleasure of getting kisses from and she is now desperate for a sofa of her very own (preferably with you on it too!) No breed experience required but a sofa is absolutely essential! Are you her super lucky forever family?

ADOPTION FEE: £400.00
