The weather finally feels like it's matching up to the seasons. It's definitely gotten colder and wetter!

I know most people don't like the colder months, but I have to admit I'm definitely an autumn person. I love being able to wear jumpers and hats, I could do without the torrential rain.. but as long as I have a good coat I don't mind that either.

I think this is why I have always preferred working outside and dog walking is by far the best job ever! I love spending time with dogs and getting to know all their little quirks and personalities.

Archie is such a funny boy, he looks at you like butter wouldnt melt 🥹 but hes not always excited to go out. In fact a lot of the time it takes a bit of encouragement to get him to even come down stairs. I'm always so proud of him when he lets me get his harness on.

Hes has a busy few months, hes moved house, changed groomers, changed regular walking routes and has a complete stranger coming into his house. Thats a lot to comprehend and sometimes our furry friends are a little more sensitive to these big upheavals than us.

Thats why we have been working together slowly to get him comfortable with me and comfortable going out for walks together. We started off playing scent games in the garden, he loves this. It gets him outside and using his nose and even though hes not getting a huge amount of walking done hes stimuating his brain and getting some much needed company while his pawrents are at work.

Beth's Barkers take things at the dogs pace. Theres no point trying to force a dog to do something they dont want. That usually leads to worse relationships and an unhappy dog. So if you have a nervouse dog and have been worried about getting a dog walker. Then you've come to the right place. I will do my best to help you and your dog. And im happy to work along side trainers too!
