What a bloody gorgeous autumn weekend ☀️ but sadly winter is on its way.
We’ve got one space for a full/schooling/rehab/sales livery.
If you’re looking for a very small private set up with individual paddock maximum winter turnout (well all year round turnout), friendly faces and a beautiful arena to ride in then drop me a message.
We also have purpose built rubber matted stables with sky lights, hot horse wash, solarium, 5 horse walker, 1/2 mile seasonal hacking track, alarmed tack rooms and we’re 10 minutes from Somerford.

Another really great day yesterday with new boy Indy du Loir in the Novice at Kelsall yesterday. Sadly we didn’t redeem ourselves from last week’s almost glistening win but Indy was still super nonetheless.
After letting the handbrake off last week at Allerton as I was obviously convinced I was going to win, it became pretty apparent yesterday that Indy felt the same blistering pace was necessary despite very much not being anywhere close to winning. It was a fairly wild and free and xc round for the first 8 or so fences 🏎️ 🚀 We actually ended up having a very annoying 20plts at a skinny triple brush thing right and the end of the course after I didn’t quite have his balance right off a step. He must sometimes think it’s so weird not being ridden round by a man, and I sometimes forget he isn’t 15.3 bouncing Crumpet.

I actually thought he did an even nicer test this week but somehow found ourselves with a 36 🤷‍♀️
And again after our dazzling clear SJ last week I managed to have a fence down pressing down a distance and he managed to have a fence down.

I actually can’t wait to come out next year after a winter of training. It’s been abit of a baptism of fire having to bounce from event to event because we found each other in June and not January but he is so exciting! I heard on a podcast once that it takes minimum 12 months for a horse to become yours, but at just 3 months I feel like we’re becoming firm friends.

I think it’s fair to say it would be a long time before I could afford anything as smart or as talented as him again and as a bonus he’s turned out to be incredibly kind to me. I got reallllllly lucky buying him!
Hopefully we can squeeze in one more run this year with each other but otherwise roll on 2027 with this lovely horse! 🐴 🇫🇷 🥐

We continue to fall in love with Indy du Loir! It’s been another great day getting to know each other a little bit more at in the Novice. Im so excited for next year with this guy, I think we’re going to be really good mates ❤️

We had such a great day at Allerton Park yesterday with Indy in the Novice. What a stunning event!
Annoyingly his last two runs have been cancelled so we’ve not actually been out since July. Although a shame not to have gone to some cool shows it has given me chance to get to know him abit more at home.

How exciting it was yesterday to go into XC in the lead on a 28.3 dressage and clear SJ. I’ve definitely found the SJ the trickiest phase with him so far so I was thrilled for such a lovely clear!
He was his usual cool self XC and we were zipping along in an effort to make the time (because I just couldn’t help myself - I was in the lead!) However apparently we’re not quite at the point I can totally let the handbrake off… because after an over enthusiastic jump into the water we went careering past the next fence with me hanging round poor Indy’s neck 🙈 I must remember he doesn’t turn quite as quick as Crumpet does!
How exciting it would have been to have come home with a win, sadly it wasn’t meant to be but how cool is he?!! Our 4th event together and we’ve come within touching distance of a good result!
I cannot wait for next year and to have some real aims with him.
Counting my lucky stars that he made his way to me - he is a total joy!

P.S We were entrusted by nursery with Harry the Hippo to take on an adventure this weekend… so off he went to the beautiful Allerton Park!

Although we’re very sad not to be down at Cornbury this week for the 2* after the class was cancelled, it was great to finally get out for a proper xc school with my new guy after some ☔️

Isn’t this beautiful piece of spaghetti fantastic?! Video credits as ever to Sarah Hedges at Wishful Filming who could also make you a masterpiece just like this!

Anyway I’m available this Saturday for XC lessons. Sadly not Sunday as we’re set to see Teletubbies Live and its apparently one hell of a performance

Poor old Crumpet has been sidelined since May with a virus that’s left him feeling pretty crap! Luckily we’ve got Gaby and her treatments to help him feel abit more like himself again. Roll on 2027 when he’ll be back out. I might as well have had another baby this year…Crumpet’s now had two boring seasons on the trot!
