Last week, we held our first commercial sheep flock group vasectomy day! 🐑

BTV Update

Just like many farm practises across the UK, we are receiving reports of clinical signs which could be attributed to blue tongue virus (BTV) in both cattle and sheep.

Our vets are attending visits, taking samples and treating individual animals while offering heard and flock advice.
One such visit from several weeks ago has unfortunately been confirmed as blue tongue positive.

We have a number of samples still outstanding awaiting lab confirmation. Please continue to be vigilant for clinical signs, report them to your vet on suspicion of disease, and take individual advice on treatment and vaccine availability.

We will continue to update you on the latest BTV situation.
We are still accepting vaccine orders for the waiting list and the office will continue to call clients as vaccine arrives and orders are fulfilled.

A busy week of educational meetings for our team!

A huge thank you to Beth T, Matt, Charlie and Chere for joining us at our very first Commercial Flock Discussion Group meeting in Barrowden. We hope you found the session valuable and took plenty away from the discussions. We look forward to welcoming you back to future meetings!

We'd also like to thank Chris and Beth T for delivering an informative presentation on Calving & the Prevention of Downer Cows at Green Pasture Farms. It was great to see so many people attending and engaging with such an important topic.
