Following on from the young hounds being shown in couples, firstly the dogs then bi***es, they are then brought back before the judges eye for a process of elimination to reach the winning dog then winning bitch for them to go head to head for the Championship. Not every story of trail hunting is seen at the meet.

For our staff, this isn’t a nine-to-five job that ends at the gate. It is where they raise their children, build their homes and devote their lives to caring for our hounds and maintaining a tradition and community they love.

The people in these photographs are not just employees; they are families whose futures will be affected by the decisions made in Westminster.

The Government’s consultation on the future of trail hunting closes next week. Whether you have followed hounds for generations or simply care about the people whose jobs, homes and futures are affected, please take a moment to respond.

The trail hunting consultation isn’t just about hunts. It’s also about the wider network of businesses, jobs and services that support trail hunting, horse ownership and rural communities.

You do not have to be a hunt business to respond.

This could include:

🐴 Equine professionals
🚜 Farmers and agricultural contractors
🌾 Feed and forage suppliers
🔨 Farriers and tradespeople
🏇 Livery, schooling and training yards
🍽️ Caterers and hospitality businesses
⛺ Marquee and event hire companies
🏡 Venues and rural service providers

✅ Self-employed people can submit a response
✅ Employees and employers can submit a response
✅ You can submit a business response as well as a personal response
✅ Only takes a few minutes
