🐴The answer to all my problems probably isn’t a bag of pine pellets - but it solves quite a few stable ones 🌲➡️

When the stable is fresh, mucking out is quicker, only one light barrow per day and a muck heap that’s behaving itself…

It definitely feels suspiciously helpful 😉

Maybe it can’t solve everything, but Silva Crumb certainly makes stable life a little easier 💚

😉I’m obsessed with making great compost to add back onto my garden - I love making my flowers grow!

I always use the rotted down home made compost from my muck heap and you’ve guessed it the bedding I use is our own pine wood pellets !

The heap stays smaller as the waste per day is less with the pellets, the worms 🪱 do their thing and the mix of horse poo, bedding, old hay, rainwater and time (6 months min) I have the stuff I want !

♻️Wood pellets do compost on the muck heap, our pellets are 100% natural pine and are fully biodegradable ♻️🌲

I get asked this question quite a lot and here’s my honest answer..

♻️I’m obsessed with this myself - the biodegradability of our wood pellets once they are added to my muck heap!

On our own yard, I have a small area for my muck heap and that’s one of the major advantages of using pellets, my heap stays smaller than it would if I used straw or shavings.

I can safely say that the worms on my muck heap are some of Silva crumbs biggest fans 🪱🪱

💩Manure mixed with used pellets, old hay, a dose of moisture and the busy worms & microbes results in a lovely compost after a few months and I use some on my garden, the rest goes to a local farmer.

💚So yes is the answer! What starts as highly absorbent bedding in the stable does turn into crumbly compost ready for spreading on the land!

Well it’s a scorcher here at The Rookery Equine Cheshire Horse Show 25th May 2026!

We have been here on previous bank holidays in May and had rain so never get the weather that suits everyone.

Good news is I’ve met some new people and I’m off to find an ice cream soon 🍦.

The forecast is currently set to be hot on Monday, so please make sure you come prepared and help us keep both people and animals safe throughout the day 💚

💧 Please keep yourselves hydrated – bring plenty of water, wear sun cream, hats, and take breaks in the shade where possible.

🐴 Competitors – please ensure you bring ample water for your horses and keep a close eye on them throughout the day. Consider cooling regularly and avoid standing in direct sun for extended periods where possible.

🐶 Bringing dogs? Please ensure they have access to plenty of fresh water and shade.

🚫 DO NOT leave dogs in cars, horseboxes, or wagons at any point.

🐴 When you’re a horse owner who’s tried all sorts of bedding for your box walking and messy mare and then you give Silva crumb pellets a go…

Jenny got in touch to say she’d found our pellets in her local equine store and rated them as ‘GAME CHANGING’ 🎉

💦 NO wet stable floor with p*e escaping !

💩HUGE reduction in waste - only half a barrow compared to over 2 before!
