Nearly a full house if a similar colour today.

I'll write about today, then an explanation about why I was quiet on here yesterday!

Teddy was surrounded by girls today, not that he knew 😅

It was lovely to see the last 3 who visited me just for teeth cleans. It's always lovely to see them, mostly, every 8 weeks 🪥 🌟

So, about yesterday.

It started very differently to a normal day. I had the one and only Dizzy first on the table. I had given her a pre clip, had cleared between her eyes and was giving her top lip a little clip (us girls don't like hairy lips), when at the same time, Dizzy flinched, my hold wasn't strong enough, and sadly, the clipper caught her lower eyelid (she has a little smushy face, so not much distant between her mouth and eye)

It's fair to say, I knew immediately that there would be blood (I have always struggled seeing blood) so I quickly got pads to cover her eye. But when it soaked through, I knew it was time to take her off the table and sit on the floor with her. This was hugely for my benefit (🫩) With my phone in crawling distance to me, a call was made to her owner with the recommendation of collecting her and visiting the vets.

I continued to work through 6 more dogs, which helped my confidence come back and gave me time to reflect, so I know what I will do differently going forward. And thankfully, her owner will continue to bring Dizzy and his other girls to me, so I will ensure that I am more cautious with her face.

Most of all though, yes, it looked bad at the time, but the bleeding had stopped by the time they got to the vets. It was advised that it will heal naturally and she will be fine. I haven't ruined her pretty little face, or eye, which was such a fear.

So there, the honest reality of the job I do. 99% of the time, I'm in control and confident. 1% something like this happens and it does rock you, but we move forward.
