🚨New kit alert 🚨

💬 After hearing that some of the more senior dogs who visit us were struggling with jumping in and out of their humans’ cars…

💡 We’ve built a solid platform with non-slip rubber steps, to help make it even easier to bring your beloved pups for four-legged fun, unleashed.

🐶 Steps can be helpful for dogs at any age - even for healthy, active dogs - reducing the joint impact of jumping in and out of cars, but we do have a few requests:

1. These steps are for dogs, not humans. Please help them to last well and stay safe for the dogs who need them by not climbing on them or allowing children to play on them, as with all equipment in the field
2. Please ensure your dogs are comfortable and happy using novel surfaces to ensure they have a positive experience - and as always, never force them to use equipment they aren’t confident in using.
3. The steps have reflectors on, to improve visibility when you are reversing up to them. Please be careful not to hit them!

We love to help solve the challenges you’re facing. So often, you’re not the only one experiencing them, so please don’t hesitate to DM us with any requests you have ❤️

😍 These beautiful first-time visitors had a blast, in the Practice Paddock.

🐕🐕🐶 The lovely trio of two Swedish Vallhunds and a Corgi were able to enjoy freedom and fun, unleashed; whilst their humans relaxed on a walk, without any unexpected people or dogs to interrupt their fresh air and peace of mind.

The story behind Vinny’s Getaway

As two humans of a bouncy Boxer Dog, we love nothing more than spending time outdoors with our four-legged entertainer. As any human of a Boxer will tell you, they are exuberant, excitable and full of fun... but not always well liked by other dogs. Unfortunately for Vinny, his paw-play and over-enthusiasm, mean that he is often not very popular with other dogs. A number of negative encounters led us to searching for a more private space to walk, whilst rebuilding Vinny’s confidence around other dogs.

There are some lovely private dog fields around Wiltshire, which we have enjoyed using, but with limited availability, we began the search for a private space of our own. We found a lovely hideaway on the road out to Lacock, and many months of planning permission and fencing later, we needed to choose a name for our field. Whilst tidying some paperwork, we rediscovered Vinny’s Kennel Club registration papers, and his full name given at registration... Vinny’s Getaway. Surely a sign!

We’re excited to share our secure walking field with other responsible dog owners, knowing that it’s a much needed facility in the local area. We appreciate that there’s such a diverse range of reasons people might want to use a private exercise space for their dogs, and so we’ve tried to enrich the space with a number of little extras.

- There’s a paddle puddle for those who like to splash (particularly great for bully breeds in warmer weather). We’ve fenced around this so that you can choose whether or not to let your dog(s) get their paws (and your car) wet! - Low level agility equipment, to learn and practice basic obedience skills without the pressure of an audience. We’ve up-cycled as much of this as possible, to give new life to materials which would have otherwise been disposed of. - Picnic bench and seating area, so that the humans have a nice place to rest and natter. - A fetch shelter. As optimistic as we are, there are always going to be unpredictable rainy days. We hope that if you’ve committed to booking a session, and it’s a rainy day, you can play fetch from the shelter so the weather doesn’t ‘put a dampener’ on your dog’s walk.
