⚖How much weight does my horse need to loose? and how quick? ⌛

🔷As most of you may know I don't usually like to give a final number on how many KG'S a horse needs to lose. Why ?🔷

I want their Body Condition Score (BSC) to improve more than the number on the scales. I have often seen losses or gains on the scales but horses BCS still need to come up or down.

I will give an aim and usually 1st aim and then 2nd and so on

🔶How quick ?... well how long is a piece of string ? 🔶

➡Lucy this month lost 20kg... Giselle lost 5kg

In this spring time and the grass growth weight gain is inevitable. Weight loss is hard but not impossible... Lucys just come back into full work and Giselle is being lunged more.

However, if your horses intake is being monitored and work is at its max, we just want to limit the weight gain!

If your yard has a suspected or confirmed case of Equine Influenza, or you’ve recently been in contact with an affected horse/yard, please contact me ASAP so we can reschedule!

I take biosecurity seriously !! The weighbridge is sanitised between every visit with Bio Genie and I use antibacterial wipes and hand sanitiser used between appointments.

Please also check the ‘Policies’ and subsequent ‘Biosecurity’ section on my website.
