16 months ago we lost our beautiful old cat, Buttons. We decided that now is the right time for us to welcome a new cat to the family. We adopted this beautiful boy from Cats Protection Long Lane. We are in love already ❤️❤️❤️

LIFE AFTER EUTHANASIA FOR BEREAVED PET CARERS

The decision to have a pet ‘put to sleep’, to choose euthanasia to end their life, is one of the hardest decisions a pet carer may ever have to make.

Even when an animal is suffering and has no hope of recovery, the decision is rarely as clear cut as you might expect. Will tomorrow be a better day? Is it too soon? Have I left it too late? Will they think I’ve given up on them? Will I be able to be strong for them?

These thoughts are all common.

It might be helpful to know that, whatever your thoughts and feelings, you’re not alone.

Thinking of all the families who lost a pet in July. They all had one thing in common - loving their pet and wanting a peaceful end to their treasured lives. 💕🕊️🌈🤍

Thank you for being our friend 💕
Dottie dog 12/06/13 - 24/06/26

The sweetest dog 💕
With the worst habits! (mainly involving picking up pheasants and rabbits!)
Simply a big Thank you to Donna, Kirsty and co. at Heavens Gate Pet Cremation services. It is incredibly difficult (as so many of you know 💔) to hand over the care of a loved pet to someone else. I knew that our lovely Dottie would be in safe hands, treated with care and dignity when I took her there for her individual cremation after her passing.
