A stray tortoise has been found in the Elton area and is currently safe.

Proof of ownership will be requested before reunification.

Weather's looking good for our birthday open day on Saturday. Make sure you pencil us onto the calendar for between 1 and 3pm. We are delighted that our friends from The Arc- ashbourne animal welfare, are joining us for the afternoon. We are hoping to have some fun and raise some money for some very worthy animal charities.

Registered Veterinary Nurse – Permanent or Part time Position

We are delighted to invite applications from a passionate and skilled Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our busy, well-established independent practice, located on the edge of the stunning Peak District National Park.

This is a varied and rewarding position, offering the opportunity to work across multiple areas of the practice, including theatre, inpatient care, nurse clinics, and some reception duties.

Hours:

* 16-40 hours per week
* Opening hours:
* 8am–7pm Monday, Wednesday & Friday
* 8am–9pm Tuesday & Thursday
* 1 in 4 Saturdays (8am–3pm)
* No out-of-hours work

SAVE THE DATE, Saturday the 20th of June 2026 1pm to 3pm, Derwent Valley Vets open day 🍾
To celebrate our 10th birthday 🎂 and the completion of our extension (the safety fencing is finally gone 🍾🍾🍾) we are holding an open day on Saturday the 20th of June, where we are inviting all of our clients to come and have a look at those parts of the practice that you don't normally see. The team will be on hand to show you round behind the scenes and explain what goes on there. With it being a birthday celebration, there's likely to be lots of cake and some fun and games as well. Come and join us if you're able. It would be lovely to see you.

Yay! Our hanging sign is back! After nearly ten years of being open, our board (that had been the pub hanging sign for The Boat House - which we originally had handpainted with our logo before we opened in 2016) had gone rotten.
For safety's sake it needed taking down.
It is now back 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Fully refurbished and repainted 🎨🖌by the same talented sign writer who did it 10 years ago.
It's really good to have it back in place in advance of our 10th birthday 🎂 in June.
