Residential Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Bruce stayed with Leigh and the team for three weeks, and honestly, the difference has been incredible.
I’d spent a huge amount of time and effort training Bruce myself - and with external help - and had made a lot of progress, but I’d reached a point where I felt like I’d plateaued and was still finding caring for him challenging. I was still dealing with occasional reactivity, and walks could still be stressful. One of my biggest goals had always been to get to the point where I could take Bruce somewhere, sit down, have a coffee and just enjoy being out without worrying about what he might react to.
After just three weeks with the team, his reactivity has reduced hugely. In fact, in the month or so since he’s been home, I think he’s barked maybe once - possibly not even. It genuinely feels like I’ve had two years’ worth of progress in three weeks.
He can now happily sit or lie down for 15–20 minutes while I chat to someone on a walk, with dogs, cyclists and all sorts passing by — sometimes even sniffing him — and he just stays relaxed. He will happily walk to heel without me feeling like he’s just waiting for the moment to run around and play. I can now sit outside with people and dogs around without feeling stressed or constantly on edge. He’s still alert and aware of what’s going on, but he’s able to remain calm, and I can simply praise him for making the right choice.
The team also provided me with a follow-up plan to help maintain everything Bruce has learned, as well as a handover session where they explained how to continue building on his progress at home. I’ve been following the plan at home and can see things are continuing to get better.
I honestly can’t thank Leigh and the whole team enough for all their help, patience and expertise. They’ve made such a huge difference to both Bruce and me, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. I’m happy that the investment I put into Bruce was money well spent.
Thanks so much, guys!
