🙋‍♀️🌿NEW 30minute Group Walks 🌿🙋‍♀️

From October, I will be adding shorter walking slots available on Mondays and Tuesdays!

As many of you know, this is by far not my normal walking legnth (I’d rather be out on the hills for hours at a time! 🥾🐾

However, these smaller slots breaking up the day provide many benefits for our dogs especially suited to very young or senior breeds 🥰

As well as being kinder on cost, a shorter group walk provides ;

🤍Prevention of Overstimulation:
Longer group outings can overwhelm a dog with too many sights, sounds, and heightened energy from other dogs. These shorter walks keep the energy calmer and highly manageable.

🤍Better protection on Joints and Muscles:
Gentle movement on shorter walks is ideal for puppies whose bones are still growing, senior dogs, or pets with arthritis, avoiding the physical strain of longer walks.

🤍Targeted Mental Engagement : Sniffing, exploring, and matching the pace of other dogs is hard work for a dog's brain. A short group walk tires out an active dog mentally as much as a longer solo walk!

🤍Increased Socialisation and lowered Anxiety: Perfect combination for younger dogs being with others and by only grouping matched dogs together their encounters will make these walks feel safe and non confrontational.

We are having the most wonderful time with summer boarders, regular clients, drop in fun and am blessed to have x3 of my own grand-puppies now with me on a regular basis ☺️☀️🐾

The four legged friendships being made together, skills being learned, the outdoor enrichment and with the highest standard of provisions really gives each and every dog I care for the best place to be. 🙋‍♀️🐶

Temperatures are set to rise again in this coming week ahead.🥵☀️

I do not like to moan, but I cannot stress the importance of taking extreme care of our pets and the vigilance needed by us as owners and carers towards our four legged friends to prevent conditions linked to hot weather, including heatstroke, burnt paw pads, sunburn and breathing difficulties.

Sadly, some dogs had not survived in the UK’s latest outbreak of heat and this is deeply heartbreaking where preventative measures are not being put into place to safeguard our dogs when a heatwave takes place.😭

Dogs are particularly vulnerable during periods of high temperatures ( or even humidity) because, unlike people, they cannot cool themselves efficiently through sweating.

It may not seem much, but even a short walk during hot parts of the day or being left in a vehicle, a caravan or conservatory for just a few minutes can have devastating consequences. 🙁

Flat-faced breeds are at even greater risks because their shorter muzzles can make breathing more difficult, reducing their ability to cool themselves through panting.
As too are overweight dogs and those with thick coats who are also at increased risks of quickly developing heat related conditions that can become fatal no matter the time of day.❕

As temperatures rise, ensure your pets have access to fresh drinking water, adequate ventilation and shade from direct sunlight at ALL times. ⛱️

Dog walks should be limited to early morning or late evening when temperatures are lower.
On particularly hot days, it may be safest to skip walks altogether! ❎

All my provisions are to keep each and every one of my clients safe, especially understanding the rapid onset of heatstroke in dogs and it’s devastating effects.

For my walking clients, I will continue to follow DEFRA’s guidance on care in hot weather (unfortunately cancellations may take place again because of this) and for my boarding clients, they still are able to have monitored fun in the shade keeping safe and as cool as possible with their other canine friends 🐳

I want to thank all of you who have been amazingly understanding in the difference of care in high temperatures.

🏝️With holiday plans being looking forward to and the uncertainty of travel destinations, costs or if it is that where you decide to go lives up to expectations ... 🐶at least you know your dog will be happy, fulfilled and well cared for here in the highest of standards.

📣A reminder I keep all my provisions offered as a professional personal service.

🌿I provide an open countryside setting, so there is always ample space for your dog to safely explore and play both together out on walks or simply whilst staying in the home.

Giving a dog freedom allows them ..
‘To be a dog’ !

It fulfils their need to forage, sniff and move..enhancing their quality of life. 🐾

Along with a happy ‘free’ dog I encourage enhanced interaction through play to build resilience, increase confidence and for practicing obedience in these engaging environments. 🎾

Allowing your dog the opportunity of freedom promotes decompression, is great for mental health stimulation and keeps their bodies active. 🫶..all of which I enjoy exhibiting and am a firm believer of!

With the Easter Holidays now underway I want to wish all my amazing Clients, Followers and dog owners alike, a very Happy Easter !! 💐🐰🐣🌷

Although I’m still going to busy over the Easter Break, this time of year is a joyous period of new beginnings, new hope, new life and to embrace all the beauty that Spring has to offer! 💕

As we indulge in the Easter delights.. please be mindful the delicious treats many of us enjoy, like chocolate eggs and hot cross buns, pose risks to our dogs as do other seasonal hazards like certain flowering bulbs, plants and even doing the spring cleaning!!

✖️Hot cross buns & Simnel cake
- contain grapes, raisins, currents & sultanas. All
toxic to dogs !

✖️Chocolate Easter eggs
- Chocolate contains a chemical called theobromine, which can be poisonous to dogs. Darker the chocolate, higher the levels of theobromine!

✖️Daffodils, Spring Crocuses & Tulips
- Can all contain toxins that are poisonous to dogs. If ingested, effects like vomiting, diarrhoea, drooling, weakness, seizures and changes in heart rate or blood pressure can occur. Even water that has had such flowers in can even cause these effects!

✖️Spring Cleaning
- Dogs can become curious with different coloured bottles and cloths that can contain dangerous chemicals .. and even after cleaning, these chemicals can still be present. To ensure your dog's safety, it's essential to prevent access to cleaning products and keep dogs away from areas undergoing cleaning or recently cleaned.
❗️ If your dog consumes any cleaning products, avoid inducing vomiting. Their vomit may be frothy and foamy, posing a risk of aspiration into their lungs.

🐾🙋‍♀️💐 So whatever your plans, I hope you all enjoy being out and about with your dog making the most of all the Easter celebrations .. remembering to keep them safe ! 🥰
