Sometimes you have dogs who pull, this Mr, is head strong, muscle strong, sniffer happy, and to busy sniffing and scenting bless him to be interested in treat incentive training, which put himself in danger because he was hard to hold back when he smelt something he wanted to investigate, So we introduced a Halti head collar. The head collar is fastened securely around the nose and back of the head but with plenty of space for the dog to pant, and be comfortable. What it does is when the dog pulls, it pulls the head to the side, stops the dog from pulling and keeps his/her attention on you, which is great for treat reward incentive training as now their focus is on you. We've been working with Mr B, and he has responded beautifully, to the point where I released the clip on his head collar (still wearing it) and he had no idea bless him and still walked beautifully. Sometimes it's good to have some help to be able to teach, control for safety, and keep your back and arms from being strained. We love Mr B, and are proud of the progress he's making.
