Yesterday my beautiful girl Cinder crossed over to rainbow bridge 🌈 🐾

She passed away very peacefully at home with us and her paw family.

To say I’m heartbroken is an understatement.
She was my best friend and my rock. Always there with a cuddle when I needed, my shadow, my protector with the kindest soul.

Please be patient with me over the next few days as I will reply to all messages next week as myself and my family need to time to grieve and process.

🐾❤️ Can We Normalise Not Criticising Small Businesses for Putting Welfare Before Profit? ❤️🐾

Every time a dog walker cancels a walk because it’s too hot…
Every time a groomer reschedules because the salon is unsafe…
Every time a pet professional says “No” to something that could compromise an animal’s welfare…

There seems to be someone ready to complain.

The reality is that every cancelled walk, postponed groom, or refused booking costs a small business money.

We don’t make those decisions because it’s convenient.
We don’t make them because we don’t want to work.
And we certainly don’t make them because we’re trying to be difficult.

We make them because the animals in our care cannot advocate for themselves.

No dog has ever suffered because they missed a walk.
No dog has ever been harmed because their groom was delayed a few days.

But dogs can and do suffer from heatstroke, stress, injury, exhaustion and other preventable welfare issues when people prioritise profit, convenience or customer expectations over common sense.

Small business owners who work with animals carry a huge responsibility. We see these pets as individuals, not pay cheques.

So if your dog walker, groomer, trainer, sitter or daycare provider makes a decision based on welfare, please remember:

🐾 They are likely losing income by making that choice.
🐾 They are putting your pet’s wellbeing first.
🐾 They are doing exactly what you trust them to do.

I’d much rather lose a day’s earnings than risk a dog’s health.

Welfare before profit. Every single time. ❤️

Thank you to every single person who came up for the dog show. Seeing so many people sign up, from long‑time regulars to brand‑new faces, genuinely made the day special.

The biggest joy for me was judging alongside Becky from Bow‑wow Pets. She’s not only brilliant with animals but a genuinely lovely person to work with.

We’re so proud of Katie here at Jays K9 Comforts ✨

Katie has been with us for 16 months and has worked incredibly hard throughout her grooming journey. She qualified as a Level 2 Groomer and began her Level 3 training with me back in September.

This week, she completed her very first poodle groom and she did an absolutely amazing job! 🐩✂️

Her confidence, dedication, and attention to detail are shining through, and we can’t wait to see how far she goes. Well done, Katie you should be so proud of yourself! 💖

⚠️ Customer Notice – Keeping Your Dogs Safe in the Heat ⚠️

With summer approaching the salon is likely to get very warm, even with our cooling system running and fresh cold water available at all times. As you know, the dryers even on cool can quickly raise the temperature inside.

For that reason, if the salon temperature reaches over 24°C, I will unfortunately need to close for the safety of your dogs. Their wellbeing always comes first. 🐾💕

If I need to adjust your appointment, I will contact you directly. In some cases, I may ask to bring your appointment forward to help us beat the heat and keep your dog comfortable.

Every dog is different, and I will always consider individual needs, especially those who fall into high‑risk categories. Your dog’s safety is never a one‑size‑fits‑all decision.

🚫 Please do not walk your dogs to the salon in hot weather.
If you’re unable to bring them by car or another safe method, just let me know we can rearrange.

⚠️ Remember: Dogs don’t cool down like humans. They rely on panting and sweating through their paws, which makes hot weather much harder for them to cope with.

If you have any concerns or need advice, please feel free to message me. ☺️
