Bit of a different one for us! Due to reasons I am in Australia for the next few weeks. This has coincided with the much anticipated Flyball Nationals 2026!

I’m taking this as the perfect opportunity to see how Flyball works in Australia and meet Yahoo in person and watch her in action.

If any of our Australian followers would like to meet up and chat about Flyball or dogs elsewhere in the world just find me (or message) and I will be happy to have a chat and answer any questions I can! (I have tons of my own to ask back!)

I’ll be the one looking slightly awkward and with a funny accent 😂

Mixed bag at Sandringham Game & Country Fair for our dogs this weekend.

We entered into the Lurcher Racing, 22” and under Coursing & Straights, and although both Timber and Calypso both made valiant efforts, especially Calypso who was holding her own until the final few yards, both were knocked out of the final round by bigger, faster dogs.

As always Timber got a (dis)Honourable mention for being the most enthusiastic dog racing 🙈🤣 he might have little legs but he has the heart of a lion.

Calypso managed to snag a 🥉in under 22” Lurcher Showing

We entered the Gundog Bale Scurry with Timber and Calypso, Timber was brilliant with the fastest time of the day overall and 🥇Calypso thought she’d show us she is most certainly NOT a Gundog, and jumped the barrier bales at the end and tried to rejoin the lure racing 🤣 perhaps next time we will try the brain work before the fast work 🙈

Lastly Timber entered the 2 Dummy Pick Up and walked away with 🥇in the non-Gundog category.

He also tried the Barn Hunt International UK which he thought was great and seemed to have a real knack for. Seems like being basically a Spaniel on crack makes for a very versatile little sports dog

One of Timbers bale scurries at the Sandringham Game & Country Fair this weekend.

Timber now remains undefeated on every bale scurry he has entered so far and held the fastest time of the day overall not too bad considering he is not trained to a dummy at all.

He also smashed the 2 Dummy Retrieve winning Non-Gundog category with a respectable time

Been sitting on these plans for a little while now, however now that everything is finalised: Hopefully Timber will be the daddy of his own little squeakers in about a years time!

Ayla Watt and I have been following each others dogs for several years, building a relationship across the ocean, cheering each other on and the culmination of that is agreeing that Yahoo, who is Sugar, Spice and Everything nice and Timber who is larger than life would be a beautiful match for Height Dogs; the first breeding of its kind to hit Australian shores!

Yahoo is already mum to a litter of Border Collie x (Koolie x Whippet) pups who are all starting to debut and run in the 3.8-3.9 range so far - we are hoping to see faster times with experience and confidence. Yahoo herself holds a PB of 3.77 and is one of the fastest dogs in Australia currently.

If you are interested in this pairing please contact Ayla for more information or register your interest here:

Arrow starting to take shape a little bit. She still has a long way to go until she’s where I’m happy with her. She has a LOT to live up to following in her cousins paw prints but she certainly has the drive and the ability 🩵

Clever little Collie dog

Happy (belated 🙈) Birthday Squeaks! 🎈🎂

How on EARTH have you made it to 3 years old we will never know 🤣

You have turned out to be something quite special, with only a handful of races under your belt, a PB of 3.69 (so far) you turn heads wherever you go

You are larger than life, our wild child and an absolute menace to society but you are also the sweetest little chocolate drop there ever was (after I swore up and down we’d never have a red dog in the house 😂)

You’ve had a bit of a rubbish year with us being off, you having a (non-Flyball caused) injury and then having to retrain your turn but hopefully you will be back to your favourite game soon 🤞

Happy happy birthday to all of your siblings; Pixel, Chaos, Q, Pike and 🌈 Phaser 🌈

Thank you Christina Opperman/Leebeardream Border Collies for the best bonkers boy we could have asked for.

Sometimes life really likes to through a spanner in the works 🤦🏻‍♀️

Literally just before Calypso was ready to start full runs she was involved in a freak accident in the garden and injured.

Thankfully she will be absolutely fine but she has an injury that does mean she will not be able to do any high impact exercise for at least 6-8 weeks and will be crate rested for a minimum of 2 weeks.

This is a massive blow to us as the dogs had already missed out on months of training while we were off so the girls are already a bit late to the party.

That being said, the most important thing is she will be okay and be back to fight another day! I suppose that’s what we get for having the feral little princess being named after a fictional character who is as wild and untameable as the sea 🦀
