Over the weekend we had an Orange and white male kitten handed into us, sadly with no microchip.
Unfortunately, he was presented to us badly injured and has sadly passed away. 💔

He was found between National Tyres and Autocare and Queen Elizabeth's Academy on Chesterfield Road in Mansfield.

If you believe he could be yours please email us at [email protected] with a photo so we can get the vet who saw him to confirm his identity.

🐶 More puppy cuddles for Receptionist Jordan! 🐶

This time, it was gorgeous little Odin the Miniature Schnauzer who came in for his second vaccination! 💉🐾

Odin was far more interested in getting some cuddles from Jordan than worrying about his visit, and she was more than happy to help🥰

We love seeing our youngest patients come through the door and making sure their visits are as positive and stress-free as possible from the very beginning.

A few cuddles, lots of fuss and a little vaccination… and Odin was ready to go! 💙

🐡 Bob is back! 🐡

After showing you our very unusual patient Bob the puffer fish, we thought we’d give you a little look at his dental procedure! 🦷🐡

Puffer fish have continuously growing teeth, so they sometimes need a little help to keep them at a healthy length. The good news is that, despite looking like quite a specialist procedure, it’s actually very quick to do!

Vet Joe has a real passion for exotic and tropical pets and would love to see even more of your unique and unusual pets here at the practice! 🐍🐢🐠

So, if you have a pet that’s a little different from the usual furry friends we see, don’t be afraid to get in touch, we’d love to meet them! 🥰

And of course, a big thank you to Bob for being such a good patient! 🐡💙

🦷🐾 FREE DENTAL & LUMP CHECKS AT RAVENSDALE VETS! 🐾🦷

Did you know we offer free dental and lump checks here at Ravensdale Vets?

Our pets can be very good at hiding things, so regular checks are a great way to keep an eye on their health.

🦷 Dental checks – we’ll take a look inside your pet’s mouth to make sure their teeth and gums are looking healthy and spot any signs of dental problems.

🐾 Lump & bump checks – noticed something new or unusual? Our team can check over any lumps or bumps and advise you on whether they need any further investigation.

These quick checks are a great opportunity to give your pet a little extra health check and catch potential problems early. 🥰

📞 Get in touch with the Ravensdale Vets team to book your pet’s free check!

🐶💋 Puppy kisses are always welcome at Ravensdale! 💋🐶

We absolutely love seeing all the gorgeous puppies that come through our doors, and let’s be honest… cuddles are always a must when you’re at the vets! 🥰🐾

Bringing your puppy in from a young age isn’t just about their vaccinations and health checks though, it’s also a great way to help them socialise and get used to the sights, sounds and smells of the vets, as well as being handled by different people from a young age.

The more positive experiences they have from a young age, the more comfortable they can become with future vet visits 💙

And if that means receptionist Jordan gets a few puppy kisses along the way… we certainly won’t complain! 😂🐶💕

🐡 Meet Bob! 🐡

It’s not just furry friends we see here at the practice! 💙

Bob the puffer fish is in with us today for a rather unusual visit..he’s here to have his teeth trimmed! 🦷🐡

Puffer fish have teeth that continuously grow, and if they become too long, it can make eating difficult. So, just like our other patients, sometimes they need a little helping hand from the vet.

Vet Joe has lots of experience with exotic and tropical animals, he actually has an impressive 7 tanks of fish in a variety of species, including puffer fish! This means he’s well placed to care for all those slightly more unusual pets that come through our doors 🐢🦎🐍🐠

We love seeing such a variety of animals at the practice, and Bob is certainly a little different from our usual furry patients! 🐶🐱

🐾🥾 Happy National Walk Your Dog Week! 🐶🌳

This week, some of the Ravensdale team have been getting out and about with their own dogs, enjoying everything from countryside hikes to good old fashioned walks! 🐕💚

National Walk Your Dog Week is all about celebrating the benefits of getting out together, and there are plenty! 🌿

🐶 Keeps them fit & healthy – Helping maintain a healthy weight and strong muscles
👃 Great mental enrichment – All those new sights, sounds and, most importantly, smells
❤️ Strengthens your bond – Quality time together is good for both of you
🌳 A change of scenery – Exploring somewhere new can make walks even more exciting

And remember, sometimes the best part of a walk is simply letting them stop and sniff! 👃🐾

So grab the lead, lace up your walking boots and get out there! 🐕

🤍Meet the team 🤍

This week, we’re introducing our wonderful Head Nurse, Rebecca! 💙

Rebecca has been a veterinary nurse for an incredible 26 years! 🩺🐶 Over the years, she’s gained a wealth of experience and one of her favourite parts of the job is educating clients about their pets’ health and helping owners feel confident in caring for their furry family members. 🐾

When she’s not busy at work, Rebecca is kept on her toes by her own little gang, Jeff the rabbit, Floss the Cocker Spaniel, and Badger the Springer Spaniel 🐕🐰

Here are a few more things you might not know about Rebecca…

🥢 Favourite food: Chinese food
🌍 Dream destination: A safari in Africa
🐕 Work ambition: To do more dog behaviour and physiotherapy
🎭 Fun fact: She loves heading to London to watch plays… and is slightly obsessed with Chris Martin! 😂
