Good afternoon from Forest Vets! 🐾

Here’s lovely Miss Milly enjoying a cuddle with our wonderful nurse, Jodie. 💕🐱

As the summer sunshine comes to an end and the rain, storms and cooler weather returns, some of our little whiskered, furry and feathery friends can become anxious and unsettled. 🌧️⛈️

If your pet struggles with stormy weather, please come and speak to one of our vets. We can offer advice and, where appropriate, discuss calming medication to help your pet feel more comfortable and relaxed. 🐾💙

Stay safe and cosy, everyone! ☔️🐾

We’re still waiting on a few new gadgets, but we can’t wait to show you the finished space. Once the renovations are complete, we’ll give you a full tour of the back, including our brand-new imaging suite and prep area! ✨

A huge thank you once again to all of our wonderful clients for being so patient and understanding while the renovations have been underway. ❤️

We’re so excited to share the finished result with you! 🐾🩺❤️

We’ve started a ‘Friends of Forest Vets’ notice board and as you can see it’s looking a little “bear” 🐻

With your consent - we’ll take a photo of your furry, fluffy, feathery or scaley friends to feature on our board to celebrate the diversity of the friends we are privileged to meet 📸

Good afternoon🐾,

Last week, our lovely Flora came into the practice after returning from her holi-bobs with a persistent foot issue.
Her mum had noticed a grass seed lodged pre holiday and thought she had removed the pesky problem. Unfortunately, a different secret grass seed had migrated into her paw, so Flora was later admitted to the practice and placed under a general anaesthetic.

Our vet, Sophie, made a small incision to carefully remove the grass seed. Once it had been removed, the wound was thoroughly flushed to clear away any bacteria and debris before being cleaned and dressed.
Whilst we were checking Flora and her fluffy feet we found even more grass seeds hidden between her toes!

This meant Miss Flora went home sporting a little bandage on her paw—but not for long! Thankfully, she will soon be the mend and able to return to her regularly scheduled spaniel mischief.

Grass seeds may look harmless, but they can cause painful infections and often require surgical removal if they migrate beneath the skin. If you notice your dog persistently licking a paw, limping, or showing signs of discomfort after a walk, it’s always best to get them checked as soon as possible.

Good evening, everyone!
We have some exciting news to share with you! 🎉

We are delighted to announce that we can now offer cryotherapy to our lovely patients for the treatment of certain lumps, skin tags and warts.

Cryotherapy uses extreme cold to freeze a localised area of tissue. This reduces blood flow to the treated area and gradually destroys the unwanted tissue allowing the body to heal naturally.

We have already seen some fantastic results and are excited to share more of our patients’ positive outcomes with you over the coming weeks.

If you’d like to find out whether cryotherapy could be suitable for your pet, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team—we’d be happy to help🩺🐾

We hope you and your furry friends are enjoying the sunshine and staying safe during the warm weather!

Heatstroke is a serious and potentially life-threatening emergency for pets, so we encourage all pet owners to take extra precautions during hot days. Where possible, avoid walking dogs during the hottest parts of the day and ensure your pets have access to plenty of fresh water, shade, and cooling mats to help keep them comfortable and safe.

Here are some photos of our team’s pets keeping cool this summer! We’d love to see how your pets are beating the heat too—share your photos in the comments below.
