✨ Meet Stitch ✨
"He's only one, but he's already discovered that pulling gets you places... or at least he's giving it a very good try!"
Stitch is a one year old Dalmatian who has joined us for residential training.
He's an enthusiastic young lad who currently finds walking nicely on the lead particularly difficult. He can pull extremely hard, bark persistently when he sees other dogs and get very excited when people arrive, which usually involves plenty of jumping up. Dogs passing the house can also trigger barking and attempts to get outside to investigate.
During his stay we'll be focusing on transforming those lead manners, improving his engagement around other dogs and helping him develop better impulse control around people and everyday distractions.
There's plenty of young Dalmatian energy to work with, so we're looking forward to getting stuck in and sharing Stitch's progress with you. 🐾

✨ Meet Bo ✨
"At two years old there's plenty of enthusiasm... now we need to put a little more control behind it!"
Bo is a two year old Rottweiler who has joined us for residential training.
She's a young, powerful girl who can pull on the lead and become reactive around other dogs. People, wildlife, cats and joggers can all provide distractions too, making everyday walks more difficult than they need to be.
During her stay we'll be focusing on improving Bo's lead manners, building better engagement and responsiveness, and helping her learn to remain calmer and more neutral when dogs and other distractions are around.
The goal is to make taking Bo out and about a much more enjoyable experience for everyone.
We're looking forward to sharing her progress with you. 🐾

✨ Meet Layla ✨
"She's a very sweet girl... until something happens that she thinks requires her immediate attention!"
Layla is a five year old Mini Goldendoodle who has joined us for residential training.
She's affectionate and strongly bonded to her family, but can struggle with barking and reactivity around visitors, noises and the doorbell. She can also become protective around her owner, jumping up and occasionally nipping when she's uncomfortable with an interaction. Away from home, recall is another area that needs some work.
During her stay we'll be focusing on helping Layla switch off more easily, improving her responses around visitors and everyday noises, building better impulse control and developing her engagement and responsiveness around distractions.
We're looking forward to sharing Layla's journey with you over the coming weeks. 🐾

✨ Meet Maya ✨
"She's spent a lot of time feeling like she needs to deal with the world herself."
Maya is an approximately six year old Malinois/Shepherd cross who has joined us for residential training.
She's an intelligent girl, but can be very reactive around other dogs and wary of unfamiliar people, particularly some men. Wildlife, cats, joggers and other distractions can also quickly grab her attention, and once she's focused on something she can find it very difficult to listen to her handler.
During her stay we'll be focusing on building Maya's confidence, improving her engagement around distractions, helping her become calmer around dogs and people, and teaching her that she can look to her handler rather than feeling she needs to deal with everything herself.
We're looking forward to getting to know Maya and sharing her journey with you over the coming weeks. 🐾

🐾 BIG NEWS — WE’VE MOVED OUR ONLINE COMMUNITY! 🐾

We’ve been working behind the scenes to make some exciting changes to our dog training community.

Many of you will know that we originally started our community on WhatsApp, and we were really pleased with how quickly it began to grow into a friendly group of dog owners helping and supporting each other.

However, we came across a big problem…

Videos and content on WhatsApp only stay available for 30 days, which meant that when new members joined, they couldn’t access the previous training content and valuable information we had already shared.

For us, that just wasn’t good enough. We wanted to create something that could grow with our community and give every member access to everything, no matter when they joined.

So, we’ve now moved our community over to Skool! 🎉

And we’re really excited about it.

Skool gives us the opportunity to reach dog owners all over the world and create something much bigger than just a chat group.

Our aim is to bring you:

🧠 Practical advice based on real-world experience
🎓 Training lessons you can work through at your own pace

We’ve got 18+ years of hands-on experience working and training dogs, and we want to take everything we’ve learned and make it as accessible and easy to follow as possible.

We’re going to be adding lots of content over the coming weeks, so this is just the beginning. 🚀

At Next Level Dog Training it’s important we keep learning as we believe it never stops. Yesterday I attended Graham Atwood’s seminar fine tuning detection dogs and creating an indication most people could only dream of from a guy that is by far one of the best in the Industry. 👃👃🌫️🌫️🦮

✨ Meet Hector ✨

"Being 80kg means even a little uncertainty can look pretty dramatic!"

Hector is a five year old Great Dane who has joined us for residential training.

At home with the people he knows, he's described as a wonderful, funny and loving big softie. Out in the world, however, unfamiliar people and dogs can make Hector anxious and his response can involve barking, growling and pulling towards them. Understandably, his sheer size means those reactions can make walks particularly difficult.

Wildlife is another temptation, and if Hector spots a hare or deer his recall can disappear along with it!

During his stay we'll be focusing on building Hector's confidence around people and dogs, improving his engagement and lead manners, and developing much better responsiveness around distractions.

Ultimately, we'd love to help Hector and his owner get back to enjoying public walks together and open up more opportunities for this gentle giant to come along for the adventure. 🐾
