It’s easy to think that the cold is a danger to rabbits and guinea pigs but heat is the biggest danger ‼️

Below are some top tips on how to keep your pets cool - signs of heat stroke and what to do in an emergency 🚨

If you are concerned that your pet has heat stroke please call the practice on 01613021387 option 1 for emergency. If we are closed call our out of hours PetMedics on 01617944999 🐾

Are we allowed to say it’s too hot yet 🥵

Pets at Home Manchester Fort have a fabulous range of products to help keep your cats and dogs cool during the summer 😎

Always offer fresh, cold water, provide a cool room, if possible a fan, and avoid taking your dogs out for a walk during the peak times of high temperatures!

We don’t recommend these products are used for small pets such as rabbits or guinea pigs ~ there will be a separate post for some top tips 🐰

Did you know we are a Gold ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic? 🐾

We offer complete separation for your feline companions from the waiting room to the hospital wards away from dogs 🐶

We have a dedicated cat only consult room 🩺

All members of our team are trained for gentle, scruff free handling 🐱

We make sure your cats care and comfort comes first. We have specialised Well Kennels which are spacious enough for a litter tray, a hide/ cat bed and are temperature and light controlled 🏠

We are also delighted to have our own cat advocate which is our fabulous Head Registered Veterinary Nurse Elise 💜

Spencer came in for his second vaccination, he brought his favourite toy along for the visit ❤️

Spencer’s owners were covered for his vaccination and flea and worm treatment after signing up for the Complete Care! Extra bonus that they signed up for Pets Club which gave them £30 off for the year on the Plan 🤩🐾
