Is your horse on long term prescription medication? 💊
If so, the law requires that your horse is examined by a vet every 6 months.
We examine patients on long term medication biannually to ensure the dose is adequate, that they are not experiencing adverse side effects, that the medication remains suitable and that they are in good health.
The horse must be examined specifically for the condition requiring medication; therefore, a passing ‘over the door’ check, emergency, or routine visit alone does not count.
We offer medication review ‘add ons’ which is a more cost effective way to have one of our vets examine your horse and review their medication. This means it can be added on to your routine vaccination visit, allowing us to consolidate routine work into two visits per year.
Once your horse has had a medication review, you can then receive 6 months of medication to last until your next review.
