☀️🐾 Keeping Your Dog Safe in the Heat 🐾☀️

As temperatures rise, so does the risk of heatstroke in our canine companions. Dogs can quickly become overheated, even on days that don’t feel excessively hot to us.

💧 Provide plenty of fresh water
🌳 Ensure access to shade and cool resting areas
🚶 Walk during the early morning or late evening
💦 Use paddling pools, sprinklers, or cooling mats to help keep them comfortable

⚠️ Remember: Heatstroke can be life-threatening and requires immediate veterinary attention.

Signs to watch for include:
• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Lethargy or weakness
• Vomiting or diarrhoea
• Collapse or seizures

If you suspect your dog may be suffering from heatstroke, move them to a cool area, offer small amounts of water, and contact your vet immediately.

🐶 A little extra care in warm weather can make a big difference. Stay cool and stay safe!

‼️ Missing cat ‼️- Has health issues and requires medication 💊

Missing from Newhey Rd/Nearbrook Road area of Wythenshawe (around the corner from Haveley Hey Primary school)

A client of ours has asked us to share that their cat has gone missing. He went out at 4am on the 22nd of May which is very unlike him and hasn’t returned home since.

He’s a gorgeous fluffy black cat, neutered and microchipped. 🚨He also has a small clip on the side of his ear!If he still has his collar on it’s red with a strawberry charm with the owners contact details attached.

He’s a friendly boy but weary of strangers! Please check sheds and garages and share this post. If you see this cat but can’t get hold please contact the practice so we can contact his owners.

No two days are the same at Medivet Gatley 🦔

Today we had this little man brought to us!

We have named him Giorgio after arriving wrapped in an Armani blanket (very luxurious)🤴

Our fabulous team weighed and checked him over and he’s now resting up on his bougie blanket and eating the finest food a hedgehog could dream of💤💤

We work closely with a Gentleman that will come pick Giorgio up and keep him safe until he is strong enough and ready to go back into the wild.
