THEY SEPARATED MY TWINS… 😳💔
The girls were SO excited for their first day back at school. No tears, no nerves — they couldn’t wait! ❤️
Tabby and Penny are independent, have their own personalities and friendship groups. They’ve always sat at the same table, although not necessarily beside each other.
I asked their new teacher about the seating plan and she said she couldn’t remember where they were sitting.
I looked across the classroom and saw Penny happily sitting with a friend.
Then I saw Tabby.
She was on the other side of the classroom, away from Penny and her familiar friends. The name tags showed she’d been placed with boys, no girls and some have behaviour issues. She was visibly upset and crying.
What upset me most was that the teacher didn’t acknowledge her, comfort her or check she was okay.
I asked why the twins had been separated.
“I separate twins.”
I asked why.
No answer.
I completely understand twins needing independence, but both girls are very academic, capable and independent. There was no academic reason given for separating them.
I asked for Tabby to be moved. I was told no, so I moved her myself and requested a meeting with the headteacher.
ALL OF THIS happened within the first 10 minutes of school.
And then I was told I had upset the teacher.
But what about my upset daughter? 💔
I’d genuinely love advice from other parents...
What would you have done? ❤️
And this isn’t the first time I’ve had to fight the school for my girls. Last year we battled over them having time off for the Stars Horse Show, and after being told no, I had to push it all the way threatening them with the Board of Governors… but I won that battle too. 💪🏼❤️
