Meet Koda 🐶

This sweet Disney prince came to visit us for his first puppy vaccinations, which are super important to keep him safe while he explores the world and socialises with other local pups.

Meet Dusty! 🐾

Dusty visited the practice for his heart scan, and this handsome boy was such a lovely patient throughout his visit.

A heart scan, or echocardiogram, allows our vets to get a detailed look at a dog’s heart, assessing its structure, movement and blood flow. It can help us identify changes affecting the heart and provide valuable information to guide the best care for our patients. 🩺

Our team took great care of Dusty and made sure he was as comfortable and relaxed as possible throughout his visit.

Well done, Dusty! You were a star! ⭐🐾

This weekend a few of us (definitely against my better judgement - Sinéad 😂)are undertaking the Tough Mudder Challenge for Mind.

Veterinary professionals spend their working lives caring for animals and the people who love them. They also face some of the highest rates of burnout, stress and su***de of any profession, and they often carry it quietly.
Recently, our practice owner, Sinéad, has had a friend and fellow practice owner die by su***de, so this one is for Kerry.

This isn't only a vet problem, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem each year, and too many people still wait too long, or never ask for help at all.

Mind provides advice, support and a voice for anyone facing a mental health challenge.

So Sinéad, Hannah, Holly, Harrison, Debbie and Debbie's husband Alan are doing Tough Mudder for Mind. Sinéad, at least, is wholly unprepared for this! Please donate what you can and if you can't donate please just share, as every donation matters.

MCR Vets is a new independent practice based in Media City. Since opening 18 months ago, we've grown into a busy practice with a wonderful client base of the loveliest people and animals.

We work to a high standard and genuinely want our RVNs to do as much as possible. Our nurses lead our dental work, and we're now expanding the Schedule 3 procedures they carry out.

• £29,000–£31,000, depending on experience
• 5 weeks' holiday plus pro-rata bank holidays

Catch us on at 5pm today discussing the CMA changes to veterinary transparency and pricing reforms that have been made legal as of today 🎬

The changes include:

🐾 Prescription fee caps at £21 for the first prescription and £12.50 for each additional medicine prescribed during the same consultation

🐾 Vets must inform clients that they can buy medicines cheaper online

🐾 Clear price lists are now mandatory for practices to publish online

🐾 Written estimates need to be provided in advance with an itemised bill for any non-emergency treatment expected to cost £500 or more

🐾 Vet businesses must explicitly disclose whether they’re independent or part of a larger corporate group

🐾 Emergency costs must be explained in advance, and all end-of-life choices must be presented equally with upfront pricing

Meet Pip! 💚

Pip recently spent the day with us receiving fluid therapy and nebulisation treatment to help clear the mucus that had built up in his lungs. Despite feeling under the weather, he was an absolute superstar and was so well behaved throughout his stay.

After one of our vets diagnosed Pip with pneumonia, his ongoing care was led by our incredible nursing team. Their expertise, dedication and compassion played a huge part in his recovery - from taking diagnostic X-rays and providing dedicated nursing care, to encouraging Pip to eat again, which was a fantastic step forward.

Our veterinary nurses play such a vital role in every patient’s journey. Their knowledge, skill and care make a real difference, helping poorly pets like Pip get back on their paws. 🐾
