ad | We were so happy to receive this delivery from this week 🖤

As a q***r person, I always worry that I have to hide parts of myself from the brands I work with - I find myself playing down parts of myself because I don’t want to miss out on opportunities. So it was a really nice surprise to see my favourite brand not only celebrating pride month but also actively donating to a Trans charity throughout Pride month.

I adore this recipe (as do the boys) and knowing a percentage of the sales go towards makes me really proud of this partnership!

I’m still finding ways to show up authenticity online - I think a part of me is still scared of the potential rejection, but it’s things like this that make me feel safe to be who I am 🫶

If you think of Loose Lead Walking and your mind jumps to walks around the block, I get it, but that’s not how we do things here!

Of course Loose Lead skills help with your daily walks, but imagine knowing you could take your dog anywhere, even if the trail is on-leash and feel confident in their behaviour and your ability to enjoy your walk! No getting your arm yanked off, no constant battle with the leash and no barking at other dogs!

I used to dread walk like this with my first dog. In fact I’d avoid most places he had to be on leash. But taking a bit of time out, to be consistent and lay down the right foundations made all the difference for me. Because now the world is open to us!

So if you want more than just the same walks at the same park and you want to start having the adventures you dreamed of, don’t let your leash skills hold you back. Join me this July for my LIVE 30 Day Loose Lead Challenge.

So often, the biggest blocker for progress is time. You’re already busy, so how do you find the time to train on top of walking, feeding, working, feeding yourself and maintaining a social life???

This is how I felt, but I’ve spent the last 6 years developing training techniques that fit into busy life. So if I wanted to stop my dogs pulling, but I didn’t have loads of extra time, this is what I’d do first:

1) Spend the first 5 minutes of every walk (before you even open the door) doing eye contact games and lowering your dogs arousal levels (you can do this through scatter feeding)

2) Start capturing their attention - every time they choose to look at you, reward them with a high value treat!

3) Set an intention for each walk - maybe your goal is to build engagement? maybe it’s to let your dog sniff and decompress? Or maybe you want some time to connect and play with your dog? Setting an intention for the walk allows us to utilise the time we already have (instead of going into autopilot and staring at our phones while our dog drags us around the block.

And if you want more strategies built around real life, my 30 Day Loose Lead Challenge starts this July. Daily exercise, weekly live session and amazing prizes up got grabs. Just imagine - you walks could look totally different after just 30 days of simple training.

These are my top priorities, share yours below 👇

📍Ok here they are 👇

I’ve helped hundreds of Dog Guardians to overcome their dog’s pulling and lunging on leash and these are the most common things that keep people stuck.

1. Stopping and turning when your dog pulls - chances are, this isn’t teaching your dog anything and is just increasing frustration for both of you. Instead we need to learn how to teach your dog TO walk nicely and address any underlying drivers for pulling.

2. Trying random tips or quick fixes - the truth is calm walks start with a plan. The more you jump around with your plan, the more confused your dog is going to get.

3. Dragging your dog away from smells - investigating smells is exactly what your dog needs from a walk. If you want a calm, happy dog as a starting point, they need to get the chance to sniff. Dragging them away is causing more problems than it solves.

4. Leaving the house as soon as the lead goes on - if your dog is hyped up before the walk, they are not going to have the capacity to learn anything on the walk. Instead allocate the first 10 minutes of your walk to a pre-walk routine. You can grab mine for FREE just comment CALM and I’ll pop over my Calm Walk Starter Kit.

Want more help achieving calm walks? Pre- registration for my 30 Day Loose Lead Challenge opens this Wednesday - keep an eye out for more 🤗

I promise he was fine 🙈

When I got my first dog, I’d been told to “redirect” his biting onto a toy. So you can imagine my confusion when that resulted in more intense biting.

As I learnt more about how dogs’ brains work, I realised that play in itself just builds adrenaline and without something to interrupt that, it can tip our puppies over into what I like to call “tunnel vision mode”. You know, that kind of biting that you just can’t stop.

So I built this little pattern game called energy up, energy down. Where we teach our puppies that they can absolutely play and have a great time with us, but as we play we teach them to come back out of play brain and into thinking mode.

So next time you’re playing with your puppy. Try introducing this small change. And if you need more support, comment HUB to get 3 days free of my online membership ❤️

I’ll be honest, people are not coming to me because they want to win at Crufts.

My people are the Dog Guardians who want to be able to take their dog on adventures, enjoy their walks, maybe stop in a pub and then cuddle on the couch at the end of it.

I believe that training should bridge the gap between what we need and what our dog needs to help us enjoy life with them. Not strip all the fun away through strict rules and control.

I also believe that training should feel good and supportive for the humans involved. You’ll never hear me shaming pet parents or telling them that it’s all their fault. Your feelings matter and in my experience, people are just trying their best with the knowledge they have.

And if any of that resonates with you, I created an online membership for dog guardians who want to live their best life, without turning their dogs into a robot.

Train at your own pace, without sacrificing trainer support. So you can start genuinely enjoying the life you dreamed of with your dog. Comment HUB and I’ll send you 3 Days free!

The reality is, most people are trying to change their dogs behaviour, while repeating the same mistakes and cycling through endless “tips and tricks” 🙃

Reactivity training takes commitment, but it’s worth the effort. Your dog deserves to feel safe and you deserve to enjoy your walks.
