New face alert! And what a handsome face it is too..

Meet Riley 🤍

What can we say about our Riley, a beautiful, goofy and loving boxer boy who has found himself in our care at 10 and a half years old. Very sadly, due to a relationship breakdown in his previous home, Riley had nowhere to go and was relinquished to us here at WARS. Naturally, he is a little confused about this huge change in his life, but nevertheless has been an absolute pleasure to care for, and whoever takes on this boy for his twilight years has truly hit the jackpot.

Riley is a gentle and affectionate soul who has been super friendly with everyone he has met here. He has previously lived with young children, and we feel he could do so again provided they are comfortable with large breed (and slightly slobbery!) dogs. He will happily potter out and about where other dogs are around, but sometimes struggles with face-to-face meetings, especially with smaller dogs, due to being bitten as a puppy, therefore would prefer to be the only dog in the home but may be able to have calm and quiet walking friends. Riley could live with small pets as long as they are securely housed.

Despite being an older boy, Riley does still enjoy a gentle trot, so would like a family that are comfortable with walking him to keep him feeling good and in tip top condition. He is a super tactile boy, so someone looking for a cuddle buddy would absolutely adore Riley. Riley travels well in the car, and wouldn’t mind being taken on adventures further afield or going on travels with his new family.

Meet Lucky 🐾🐈‍⬛

Lucky is a beautiful young girl who was brought into us as a stray, after being found roaming round at the Kidderminster Railway Museum. Lucky was heavily pregnant at the time, and the museum team spotted this and recognised that as only a young cat herself, she would need help. Fortunately, the team got there just in time, as Lucky was scanned and confirmed pregnant, however the scan sadly confirmed the babies had abnormalities and both mum and kittens would be at risk if she was to give birth. The decision was made to spay Lucky, and fortunately she survived the ordeal and has made an excellent recovery, all thanks to the wonderful team at the museum who stepped in to help her when they did. Due to this, Lucky was aptly named to represent how she strayed to the right place, at the right time.

Lucky is now on the lookout for a home to call her own and put her straying days well behind her. She is a super affectionate girl, and has stolen everyone's hearts both at the museum and in our care - if it wasn't for the resident cat at the museum already they would've happily kept her!
Lucky is a sweet girl, and could share her home with children aged 7 and up but she would prefer to be the only pet for now. She would love a home that can provide safe indoor and outdoor access once she is settled, as she does enjoy adventures followed by a well deserved cuddle. Lucky will be rehomed away from the Kidderminster area to prevent her from returning to her old home.

❤️‍🩹 SPECIAL FOSTER APPEAL ❤️‍🩹

My name is Jack, an 11 year old Jack Russell Terrier, and I am here to ask for a very special foster home to provide me with some TLC whilst I recover from hip surgery I am having in about a months time.

I will need a foster carer local to the Malvern area (no further than 30 mins) and happy to provide me with the ongoing support I need throughout my recovery, involving daily care, vet checkups, administering medication and adhering to the exercise regime that the WARS team will advise on. This will involve strict crate rest and I will need someone who can be around most of the day to support me during my recovery.

I will be looking for a foster home with no other pets but may be able to share my home with children aged 8 and over, provided they are dog-savvy and understand I will be recovering from a big surgery and need lots of space and downtime.

Primarily this is a temporary foster placement, however in the long run adoption may be an option if the fosterer wishes to be considered. 🐾

Beautiful Finn & Flo would like to thank everyone for coming to our coffee morning last Friday. As always 2 hours of lovely support, good cake and chit chat! 💚

We raised a brilliant £555, thank you from us all at WARS this is a brilliant amount and to put in perspective how this money truly does help we spent just under this at the vets today for a heart scan & further investigations for one of our beautiful cats with thankfully some good results! So she can go up for adoption with a plan for her new family.

It’s been a very tough year, with medical cases and no doubt we will see more before the years out. Attending these little community events really does help change lives! 🐾

Did someone call two cuties? 🖤😻

Little Melania & Messmer are two gorgeous siblings that are very bonded and in foster currently with one of our brilliant cat Fosterers Rachel, she has been working super hard to get them feeling safe and settled, and they really have come on.

They’ve seen their brother head off to his new home & now this little duo are still seeking theirs together.

Messmer is a female and still struggles with her past and limited exposure to people before she was safe in care, therefore she will really need her family to be super patient and kind with her progress but she will be a very rewarding project. Her brother Malenia is her safe space and he will teach her lots over time and help her with her trust. He is very loving and sweet, and hopefully in time he will teach his sister all the joys a human can bring 💚

SUPER SUNDAY

Well what a day, we have well and truly had a Super Sunday 💚.

Just today alone, we have rehomed 6 cats, all to their forever homes. First up was Daphne our beautiful Tortoiseshell, followed by Misty the stunning Maine C**n and Lily who is just the most affectionate sweet girl.

And of course not forgetting 3 very cute kittens from our Space Litter who are lucky enough to all be going home together 🍀.

A massive thank you to all of the families who have opened their homes to these lovely cats, we hope they give you many years of joy and happiness.
