! First aid Training !

Unfortunately and unpredictably injuries happen and for me I normally know which dog it’s going to be . Did you know I’m first aid trained . I did my level 3 first aid training 2.5 years ago just before I started my business and it has been a great asset to me . For both the business side and Gundogs someone’s injuring something towards the end of the season .

The other day silly willow my terrier x spaniel who’s always in and out the hedges caught he head on barbed wire and also had 2 black thorns in her foot which we quickly removed and her head cleaned and cream applied when we were home . She also cut her ear which meant she had to wear a silly bandage on her head which stopped the bleeding as she kept shaking her head turning the place into a murder scene .

I highly recommend pet owner and other business to do a dog first aid course you never know when the skills might come in hand .

❗️ Training ❗️

When an opportunity pops up we have to use it .

I have Gundogs and we normally train with dummies and occasionally balls but today the naughty terrier accidentally when on a walk caught a pheasant in the hedge up against a fence and it died instantly . So to make good use out of a naught willow situation we did some warm game training with the young dogs and dogs in for training.

Everyone did amazing .

The boys have never had warm game .

Bracken light a star straight out picked it and brought it back . He did a lovely sit and stay while I put it out . Lovely young dog coming along

Red a little more nervous of it and needed some encouragement, but picked it twice and brought it back a lot more confident the second time . He did a lovely sit and stay while I put it out . He is becoming a more confident boy he acts like a bull in a china shop but he’s actually a delicate flower .

Purdy brilliant 1 quick retrieve to make sure she up to scratch for the season .

Rosie wasn’t in the mood today she’s always been a bit hit and miss but out in the field she always pulls her weight .

Goose is in for training , I’ve never worked goose and he’s a spaniel , so I sent him out and he was slightly nervous so I sent him back again made it exciting so he picked it and brought it back well . He sat and weighted with a little encouragement while I put it back out and went back very well and a lot more confident second time round so a very successful for goose . Such a sweet boy who’s used to being with his mum so is having to learn the world on his own .

It’s the weekend but we are working hard , dogs to walk and look after , training being done , we are loving being busy ...

It’s the weekend but we are working hard , dogs to walk and look after , training being done , we are loving being busy 🥰

Everyone loves going out adventuring the fields .

Merry and Gemma love rounding everyone up luckily no one minds .

Bracken and Red are never far away .

Goose is being assessed to see what he needs to work on . We look at everything we can work on and anything that needs fixing we know he a good boy and loved his adventure .

Rosie , Purdy ,Kate and Willow were in and out the bushes fully in there element .

My apprentice Charley on the photos and helping me out when I need it in the background .

We have Freya in for training to be a service dog down the line she is full of confidence.

Blue is our keeper he will hopeful join the pack working in the years to come .

Our last little boy green is still looking for his home but for now he is still part of the family . Learning like the others .

Playtime walk , not all walks can be structured , we like to give the dogs some freedom to run and play and just be dogs aswell . As long as everyone’s listening we let them have the freedom .

Felix who was a little worried to start with and brilliant by the end full of confidence .

Frankie , the sweetest boy loves everyone and playing .

Fenn , Harvey and milo , golden as always .

Bill loves playing with his brothers .

Sophie and Ernie were good as gold as always , Ernie loves to play and Sophie grows in confidence each walk .
