These two gorgeous little girlies captured all of our hearts when they visited us recently for their routine spay procedure 🐾

Here at Best Friends, we pride ourselves on our nurse utilisation. Our nursing team offer a wide range of consultations focusing on preventative care, routine procedures, and pet education.

These consultations cover a wide range of non-emergency, routine services and generally include:

🐾Preventative Health: Weight management and nutrition counseling, flea and worming advice, and microchipping.
🐾Routine Procedures: Nail clipping, a**l gland expression, health checks and second vaccinations.
🐾Post-Operative Care: Wound checks, bandage changes, and stitch removal.
🐾Life-Stage & Chronic Support: Puppy/kitten socialization, senior pet health checks, and ongoing monitoring of long-term conditions (like arthritis injections).
🐾Medication Assistance: Demonstrations or administration of tablets, topical treatments, and injections.

Our nurses are nightly skilled and knowledgeable professionals who can triage injured pets in emergency situations. They can assess your pets general health and alert the vet to any concerns / abnormalities they may find.

Our Veterinary Nurses are the ones who care for your best friend when they are in the hospital. They make sure to keep them warm, comfortable and happy. Our nursing team are highly trained in understanding the body language of your best friends, which helps ensure steps are taken to keep them as stress-free as possible.

Our nurses feed, water, take out dogs for toilet breaks, clean wounds, and provide a safe space for your best friend whilst in unfamiliar and uncomfortable surroundings. Our wonderful nurses provide emotional support as well as medical support to your best friend. They are always in safe hands with our nurses caring for them 🐾

Veterinary Nurses are also Dentists 🦷

Our veterinary nurses are usually the ones who scale and polish your best friend's teeth. They create dental charts and make notes of any missing or broken teeth.
If teeth are identified as needing to be extracted, the veterinary surgeon will come over and perform the extraction.
