Recent removal of an unwanted media wall in a bedroom.
The customer also asked if I could block up the first single pane window amd plaster it.
A few problems to solve on this one.
Firstly the plaster at the back of the shelves of the media wall where the only buts remaining o the original wall. So she wanted the wall re-boarding amd skimming.
Also, I realised the sockets and rad pipes where on the surface of the wall. "No problem", I said, "I can hide them all in the wall, when i reboard the stud wall", I said.
Until I realise that the wall was one of those 60mm plastic honeycomb walls. The customer wanted all pipes and sockets hiding, so we agreed that building a stud wall directly in front of the original wall was the best solution.
Building the wall in front of the original hid all the pipes and made it so the sockets back boxes could be fixed inside the wall. After sorting the walls and sockets it gave me chance to insulate for sound and board. The wall was skimmed and the coving was hung.
The customer said she wanted to paint it but she was originally going to just paint a full coat onto the fresh dry plaster, so I offered to mist coat it for her. The only thing left for her to do was paint the wall which ever colour she wanted it. 🙂 customer was very happy with the finish.
Before anyone asks, although I still placed dust sheets down and kept the floor clean, yes, the customer is planning to have a new carpet fitted 🙂
