How well do you REALLY know your dog? 🐶💕

After 8 years of working with dogs as a professional dog groomer, there are still things about them that absolutely fascinate me!

From their adorable little paw pads that look like teddy bears 🧸 to the surprising ways they communicate with us, dogs really are incredible creatures.

🐾 Did you know every dog’s nose has its own unique pattern?

🥱 Or that yawning doesn’t always mean they’re tired? Sometimes it’s a sign they’re feeling stressed or overwhelmed!

🦷 And did you know adult dogs usually have 42 teeth? That’s 10 more than us humans!

These are just a few of my favourite dog facts, and I’ve put together a little collection for you.

👉 Swipe through and see how many you already knew!

One of my favourite parts of being a dog groomer is getting to know all the little quirks and personalities of the dogs who visit me. No two are ever quite the same, and that’s what makes my job so special. 🥰

I’m Izzy, the face behind Izzy’s Groom Room, a one-to-one dog grooming salon near Maldon, Essex, welcoming dogs from Maldon, Witham, Tiptree, Heybridge and surrounding villages.

Now I want to know…

Which fact surprised you the most? 👀

Or do you know a weird and wonderful dog fact I haven’t mentioned? Tell me in the comments! 🐩💕

A teddy bear face doesn’t have to come with a long coat to look after. 🧸

If you love that soft, rounded look but prefer less coat to manage between grooms, a shorter clip can give you both. Freya’s low-maintenance trim keeps things practical without losing that gorgeous teddy bear face.

Teddy bear trims are one of my specialisms here in Little Totham, and I love combining a cute finish with everyday practicality.

🐱 Is your cat getting a little too good at scratching the furniture?

Or perhaps you’ve noticed their claws getting a little too long?

Keeping your cat’s claws at a comfortable length is an important part of their care. Overgrown claws can catch on carpets, blankets and furniture, and in some cases even grow into their paw pads! 🐾

At Izzy’s Groom Room in Little Totham, near Maldon, we offer professional cat nail clipping appointments. ✂️

Perfect for cats who need a little help keeping their claws in check, especially older or indoor cats who may not wear their claws down naturally.

📍 Based in Little Totham, welcoming cats from Maldon, Heybridge, Witham, Tiptree, Tolleshunt D’Arcy and surrounding Essex villages.

💌 Does your cat need their claws trimmed? Send us a message to arrange an appointment! 🐈

🐾 NEW FOR 2027 — THE IZZY’S GROOM ROOM VIP CLUB! 🐾

I’ve been working on something new for my regular customers… 👀

From January, I’m looking to introduce the Izzy’s Groom Room VIP Club! Designed to make keeping on top of your dog’s regular grooming that little bit easier. 🤍

Instead of having to think about booking each groom and paying at every appointment, your dog’s regular appointments can be planned in advance for the year, with the cost spread into monthly Direct Debit payments.

🐾 Your regular grooming schedule planned in advance
🐾 No remembering to book your next appointment
🐾 Your grooming costs spread into manageable monthly payments
🐾 Your dog stays on the regular schedule we know works for them
🐾 Your 2027 grooming appointments are already organised

VIP Club spaces will be limited and will initially be available to selected existing regular customers.

Right now, I’m simply seeing how many of you would be interested before I finalise everything.

There’s no commitment by registering your interest, it just means you’ll be one of the first to receive more information about the VIP Club.

Interested? Fill in the short form below 👇

Before the teddy bear trim comes trust 🐾

At Izzy’s Groom Room in Little Totham, a Puppy Introduction gives your puppy a gentle start to grooming, not a haircut to perfect on day one.

We focus on three things:
• Meeting Izzy and learning that friendly hands bring reassurance.
• Discovering brushes, grooming equipment and unfamiliar sounds at their pace.
• Keeping the experience short and gentle, with treats and no pressure for a flawless finish.

Puppies are welcome from their second vaccination.

Message me with their age and vaccination stage to chat about a gentle first visit.

Can you guess Dotty’s breed? 👀🐩💗

Dotty came in for her second puppy groom at Izzy’s Groom Room in Little Totham, Maldon, and just look at that little face 🥹

Puppy grooms are all about building confidence and getting puppies comfortable with the grooming process while they’re still young. Dotty is already getting the hang of it! ✂️🫧

But the question is… what breed do you think she is? 👀
