Unpopular opinion in the dog grooming industry… 👀
A slightly imperfect groom on a nervous dog will always mean more to me than a perfect groom that pushed them too far.
Not every dog is going to stand perfectly, hold still for every part of the groom or leave looking like they’ve stepped straight out of a breed-standard competition.
And that’s okay.
Sometimes the kindest thing we can do is adapt. Take a break. Change the plan. Leave something a little longer. Accept that today’s groom might not be “perfect”.
Because grooming should be about more than the finished haircut.
It’s about building trust, keeping the experience as positive as possible and making sure your dog feels safe enough to come back next time. Hence the name 'Pawsitive Grooming'🐾
Perfect hair isn’t worth a frightened dog. 💜
Would you agree? Or do you think a groom should always be finished to the highest possible standard, regardless of how a dog is coping? 👇
I’d love to hear your thoughts
