Reliable recall rarely comes from repeating the cue again and again.

Most dogs understand the cue perfectly well indoors. The challenge starts when the environment becomes more rewarding than you are.

The key is building recall in layers:
start easy, add distance slowly, practise safely outdoors, then gradually introduce distractions.

And rewards matter more than most people realise. A dog choosing you over a squirrel is a very different level of difficulty than a recall in the kitchen.
