It’s so lovely to see Elvis laying down and getting some proper REM sleep 🥰💤

Moving from a very traditional livery yard environment to full-time track and herd life can be a pretty big adjustment for some horses. It’s a completely different way of living, and it can take time for them to feel truly secure enough to switch off and relax.

Elvis is slowly getting the hang of herd life now, but we still give him regular little breaks on the paddock where he can have some quiet time to mull everything over, rest and decompress.

Thankfully, he’s also claimed himself a girlfriend in Dolly ❤️ and having her by his side seems to have made a huge difference to his confidence. It’s lovely watching him gradually settle into his new life and realise that this is home. 🥰🐴

Little Farmer Rupert looked up at the sky tonight and said:

“Wow, look how big the moon is. Is that where Bailey has gone, Mummy?”

I told him, “Yes, it’s a place called Rainbow Bridge.”

He thought for a moment and replied:

“So he’s just the other side of the moon, with all the stars?”

“Yes,” I said. “That’s where he is.” 🥺🌈✨

And somehow, in Rupert’s little mind, that made it all make sense. ❤️

Rest in peace, big orange laddo. 🧡🍑🐱🍊

Hector’s latest X-rays are looking fantastic, with the separation now pretty much grown out! 🥰

The actual photographs of his feet show there is still a small amount of the remaining wedge left to grow out, which is why the toe can still appear slightly long on September’s X-rays.

We also noticed from the latest X-rays that his heels have crept up a little since the previous set, so that’s something we’ll be addressing as we continue to rebalance his feet.

It’s all about continuing to follow the hoof as it grows, making small adjustments where needed and letting the new, healthier hoof capsule come through. 💕
