This fluffle came into our care with two other rabbits, a crowded multi animal, most loose, environment in a conservatory, horrific conditions, there were deceased baby rabbits, Sol was kept in a tiny hutch, with no way of exercising at all, so she was overweight and her nails very overgrown. There is a prosecution pending. It's taken a while to put them up for adoption as we had to wait to neuter them. Liquorice will be neutered when slightly bigger. To go as pairs of male and female.

These cuties came in as 5 week old babies who had obviously not had the correct nutrition. They were all rather skinny with not much muscle tone around their back ends. They are now on a proper diet suitable for young, growing rabbits and have filled out. Since they arrived at such a young age, we have been able to socialise them well and they are all really friendly! They all enjoy a stroke on the head, especially the two boys and they all ‘help’ (or should I say, get in the way!) when their pen is cleaned out each day.

Chip is the largest and has a rather sassy personality! When you put her down again after handling her, she will hop away flicking her back legs as if to say ‘how dare you touch me’! She has such pretty eyes, they are both half brown and half blue. Treacle is the most confident and will always be the first one to greet you. Pepsi is also a confident little chap but not quite as much as his brother. Liquorice is a little smaller than the others but that doesn’t stop her. She will need to wait a bit longer until she is neutered so that she can grow a bit more. We do wonder if they are different ages from different litters.
Also, somebody in the group has been getting a bit carried away grooming the others as we have noticed some short whiskers!

To try and litter train them, we have had them bedded on shavings with the hay in litter trays. This has helped hugely to keep them tidy!

Indoor housing requirement is a minimum of 60 square feet of floor space 24/7.

Outdoor housing requirement is a minimum 6ft shed/house or 6 x 2 x 2 hutch with a minimum of 60 sq. feet of secure covered floor space, normally a run and it has to be 3ft in height attached securely to the rabbit house, with ideally but not mandatory, the freedom to a secure garden/alternative area for stimulation; exercise, space and enrichment are most important!

🐰 What's on our minds? Our gorgeous elderly bunny Thumper 🐰 A very special heartfelt appeal to our supporters 🙏💙

Thumper arrived a few months ago. He's lived a solitary life with no bunny friends his whole life 😔
He's 10 years old. He now lives alongside a rabbit and is happy. He lived in a hutch among wild Rodents which explains his health problems. There were even rodent poos in his carrier.

Sadly he cannot be rehomed due to heart and lung problems, so he's with us, very happy, until it's time to leave for Rainbow Bridge 🌈

The last couple of days he's become poorly, the cold weather is not helping, so his carers at Meremoggies have taken him into their house. He's warm and cosy and we just hope he'll pull through. He's also being given Critical care solution. He has the company of the resident domestic Duck which is somewhat different 😆

If you'd like to donate towards his care in any way, or towards the care of the other animals we have please take a look here for ideas:

We have so many animals that are not advertised yet due to needing neutering, vaccinating and rehabilitating.

🙏💙

⚠️ ADVICE FOR RABBIT OWNERS ⚠️
We have heard of a fatal case of Haemorrhagic Disease in Macclesfield where two rabbits died suddenly. There are likely other cases out there. Please vaccinate your rabbits regardless of whether they are indoors or outdoors, to prevent sudden death.

Here’s a heartfelt tribute to a special lady whose love for animals, and fellow humans, was a beautiful reflection of her kind and gentle soul. ❤️🐾

Many of you will have already heard about the devastating passing of Lin Richards. Her life should not have ended in such a way. Lin fostered cats and kittens for us for some years and she was a pleasure to work with. Our condolences and thoughts are with her family.

Some people have a special kind of kindness, Lin you were one of those beautiful souls, with a heart full of love, compassion and tenderness for animals who needed care, comfort and understanding. Providing a safe place in this often cruel world.

The love you gave, the lives you touched, and the difference you made will never be forgotten. A beautiful lady with a beautiful heart, whose love for animals will always be part of her legacy. ❤️🐶🐱🐾

Some angels have two legs, but the love they leave behind has four paws. 🌈🐾

Tilly
Bichon Frise cross
10 years
Female
Arrived 28th August
RSPCA rehoming centre Chesterfield

Tilly, young at heart and just loves cuddles!

Tilly is one of the dogs for whom we rent kennels; we also cover all veterinary and behavioural costs, as we don’t have our own facilities.

Originally case, but now signed over, owner not providing vet treatment. Chronic skin issue, poor eyesight; bilateral mature cataracts. The owner knew she had to go to the vets but hadn't done anything. Tilly is a lovely little character, we think she is losing her sight but does get around ok. Her skin has improved massively whilst recieving treatment. See before and after photos.

Tilly was already neutered and microchipped before coming into our care. She's recently had a lipoma removed from her stomach and the vet wanted to run some bloods to check her thyroid due to how her coat and skin presents (patchy alopecia), but the bloods were fine. She received the relevant treatment she needed.
