It’s not always as obvious as hiding or shaking. Panting, watching the windows, struggling to settle or suddenly staying extra close to you can all be signs they’re feeling anxious.💚

Every dog is different, so knowing what’s normal for yours can help you spot when something isn’t quite right.

It’s easy to think everything’s fine once the noise stops and your dog seems back to normal. But noise anxiety can actually get worse if it isn’t managed.

If fireworks, thunderstorms or other loud noises frighten your dog, don’t just wait and hope they’ll grow out of it.

🐾 Nurse Paws at Bollington Vets 💜

Many of you will already know Angela from her years as a Veterinary Nurse here at Bollington Vets. Although she has stepped away from her regular nursing role, we’re delighted she remains part of the team with Nurse Paws.

With over 30 years’ veterinary nursing experience, Angela now supports dogs and cats with arthritis, mobility difficulties, injuries, and spinal or joint conditions using gentle Emmett Therapy.

Angela holds regular Nurse Paws therapy clinics at our Tytherington Veterinary Centre, with home visits also available. 🚗

Some signs of noise anxiety are easy to spot, like trembling or hiding, while others, such as panting, pacing, refusing food or destructive behaviour can be less obvious.

You know your dog best, so look out for changes around fireworks, thunderstorms or other loud noises. 🎆⛈️

If you’re concerned, speak to our team. Recognising the signs is the first step towards helping them feel calmer and safer. 💚

No one wakes up alone 🩷🐾

This gorgeous girl enjoyed plenty of post-op cuddles today following her laparoscopic spay.

We always have a nurse dedicated to our kennel patients, making sure they’re comfortable and cared for throughout recovery — with plenty of cuddles, walks and snacks along the way! 🥰🐶

Because when your pet is with us, we are with them every step of the way. 🩷
