One of the things I pride myself on is providing support through your whole reactivity journey

Most often with clients we begin with 121 sessions, this is to make sure that you’ve got the foundations, the skills and you’re feeling confident

Sometimes once you’ve got everything you need in your toolkit… the only thing left to do is practice

Which is why I offer two main classes for my clients as a progression opportunity - group walks and a more structured class to put your skills into practice in the real world

I obviously love my 121 sessions, but these classes are undoubtedly my favourite time of the week. I love watching everyone train, chat, share experiences, build connection in what can otherwise be quite a lonely and isolating thing to work through

So if you’re looking for help with reactivity, but you don’t want a little bit of guidance and then just to be thrown into the deep end by yourself… give me a call 📞

So many people have a stigma against muzzles

But muzzle training is something I’m suggesting on nearly a daily basis to my clients with dogs who are reactive or struggle in certain situations

Sometimes it’s met with willingness but more often than not, a lot of feelings and worries about public perception and more ❤️‍🩹

And yet I have not met a single owner who has regretted muzzle training their dog. Once your dog is comfortable wearing it, how and when you choose to use it is entirely up to you

there are SO many benefits to muzzle training

✨ increased opportunity for social interaction safely
✨ for many dogs - more freedom
✨ less stressful vet visits, time at the groomers etc

I’d love to hear, if you’ve muzzle trained your dog, how it might have changed their life? 👇

Hi, it’s me 👋

I have been hibernating a little- having not posted properly in a LONG time, and working reduced hours over the past few months whilst I finish up my degree.

Today I submitted my final dissertation, my second dissertation investigating how stress impacts the brain. This one looked at a gene implicated in stress-related pathophysiology and explored broader genetic changes in the prefrontal cortex with early life adversity. Super fun and cool stuff if you’re a nerd like me😎

I’ve one more exam before I have finished my whole entire degree, and then I will back to teaching, training, posting, and everything in between.

For this evening though, I’m going to soak up the sun and contemplate whether I’ve just submitted 85 pages of complete waffle or 85 of interesting research.

See you all next week when I’ll be back💕

I think one of my favourite parts of being a dog trainer is getting to push people out of their comfort zones (and hold their hands whilst I do it, of course)

It does feel a little bit mean at times…

Saying “hey, you know that one situation you find really hard and is your absolute worst nightmare?” “Anyway, we’re going there today”

But it is also SO rewarding - for both myself - and my poor victim - when they work through their nightmare situation and smash it 💃

So if you’ve been subjected to this… sorry not sorry and it comes from a place of love 🫶🫶🫶

Lovely session with Mabel this last week. Mabel struggles with some reactivity to other dogs, and has made great improvement in her ability to work through skills and obedience with her owner whilst other dogs are around however the next stage for her was to begin giving her some opportunity to interact, to begin rebuilding her social skills, and to be given the opportunity to make her own choices without being micromanaged or having a job to focus on. So off we went to the park on the long line to make that happen. Mabel had her first meeting with a dog that she hadn’t met before out in the park IN YEARS and she smashed it. I was so impressed with her and so impressed with her owner who was able to follow my instructions to a T. 🥰🫶

Just a little message to say hi 👋

I know I’ve not been posting here much the last few months…

But I am still here and teaching and filling every spare second with all of the dogs!

T minus 1 month till my (final) dissertation is due and that’ll be four years of studying over for me.

Hopefully I’ll be posting more then 💕
