Last week, lovely Darcie popped in for her second vaccinations with Nurse Kelly.

She was far too busy scoffing her liver paste treats to even notice the injections going in! 😋

Such a brave girl with the most beautiful eyes, and an absolute superstar. Well done, Darcie!

🐾 Maple, the sweetest little Chihuahua, came in for her post-op check after her recent spay. She was a perfect patient and is recovering really well. 💕

Gracie the Cocker Spaniel came in for a laparoscopic spay surgery and the removal of a lump on her head.

She was such a cute, well-behaved girl throughout her stay with us. Her lovely little tuft of hair had to be clipped for the procedure, but we’re sure it will grow back in no time!

We’re pleased to say she has recovered really well. 🥰

🐾🌱 GRASS SEED SEASON 🌱🐾

Around 90% of grass seed injuries occur between June and September, with July typically being the peak month. Dogs with long ears and thick coats are at greater risk, but all of our four-legged friends can be affected.

Grass seed season is well underway, and little Maggie was an absolute trooper after we found five grass seeds lodged in her ear. Thankfully, her mum brought her straight to us, and we were able to remove them quickly and safely. Maggie is now back to her usual tail-wagging self! 🐶💕

After every walk, it’s a good idea to check your dog’s:
👂 Ears
🐾 Paws
🧥 Coat and fur, especially between the toes and around the ears.

Keep an eye out for signs of discomfort, including:
• Excessive paw licking or chewing
• Head shaking or ear scratching
• Limping
• Swelling or redness
• Lethargy or unusual behaviour

Grass seeds can travel into the skin, ears, eyes, nose, and other areas, potentially causing painful infections if left untreated.
If you notice any of these signs or are concerned about your pet, contact your vet as soon as possible.

Stay safe and enjoy your summer walks! ☀️🐾
