*Adopted* Gumball has been with us over 5 months now. He arrived in our care looking like a typical street cat, dirty scraggly fur, fighting injuries and fleas, but how he has changed. He is now a majestic gentleman who absolutely loves his home comforts! He would like a home where he was the only cat, is there a family out there for him?
**Adoption Process**
If you are interested in adopting any of our animals, please read the below Adoption Process:
We will initially ask you to complete an enquiry form and once this is received, we will arrange a home visit. This is the electronic enquiry form https://forms.gle/HtVo9pYXojVwwzzq7. The home check gives us the opportunity to meet you and your family and see which of our animals would best suit your home and circumstances. All animals that come into our care are assessed; we match homes according to their history, temperament and care requirements. If you are not ready to adopt straight away, please advise us of this on the enquiry form.
Once you have had your home check, we will advise which of our current residents may be a good match and invite you to meet them in their foster homes. You can then choose to adopt at the same time or reserve the animal to collect within 7 days. Animals are fostered between NR29 and NR34 but we will rehome to any area as long as we are able to conduct a home check.
All animals are neutered*, microchipped and up to date with flea and worming before adoption. Entire male cats are routinely blood tested for FIV/FeLV and any urgent dental work is always carried out. Any other tests or treatments are carried out if reason to do so, or if advised by the vet.
*All of our animals are neutered before rehoming if they are old enough (4+ months for kittens). If you adopt a kitten younger than this, you will be required to book them in for neutering at 2kg or 4 months old. East Coast Pet Rescue will reimburse £40 towards the cost of neutering on receipt of the vet invoice.
If you are interested in adopting a rabbit/pair of rabbits, please be aware that housing must meet RWAF guidelines. This size is for both day and night. We will ask you to email us photographs and sizes of your set-up, and if it doesn't meet requirements, we can assist you to make the changes needed.
All of our rabbits are rehomed in pairs unless you already have a neutered rabbit who a single one will be bonded with. All of our rabbits are neutered and microchipped before rehoming.
Adoption fees:
Cats/kittens - £150 if neutered and vaccinated (if vaccinations not started, this can be reduced so new owner can arrange at their own vets)
Rabbits- £80 each or £150 for a bonded pair.
Guinea-pigs- £15 each
Adoption fees are paid at the time of adoption and help us to continue helping other animals who need us.
