QUARANTINE DRENCHES 🐏🐏
Buying in ewes, tups, store lambs - have you got a quarantine drench plan? Quarantine drenches help keep out unwanted parasites such as Haemonchus and anthelmintic resistant worms. Our vets can advise a simple quarantine drench protocol and assist dispensing both individual doses and wormers at competitive rates.

❗🐑 Calling all sheep farmers 🐑❗

Bluetongue has been rife this summer, with confirmed cases across Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire. The disease can cause temporary or permanent infertility in tups and we are encouraging fertility testing to avoid unexpected and disappointing scanning rates for lambing 2027.

Why risk not knowing if your tups are working before it's too late? For your flock's sake, investigate!

Time is ticking, so get booked in today with our special tup testing offer! Ring the practice on 01477 571000.

Thanks all who came to our autumn farmers meeting last night - a big thanks to Trouw Nutrition GB and Isabel England for discussing top tips for nutrition heading into winter and for sponsoring our burger and chips 🍔! Plus a short Bluetongue and parasites update from vet Yasmine.

If you missed the meeting we can pass on Isabel's slides and top takeaways will be in the next newsletter 📰

AHWP (Pathway) grants - less than 12 months to claim!

Don't miss out on funded flock and herd health visits using Pathway funding. Grants for flocks include visits, wormer checks, extensive disease testing; funding for cattle includes herd health visits and BVD testing including PI hunts.

🐑For sheep flocks - only this autumn remains to carry out your funded drench check on any remaining lambs before they go to market or overwintering. Springtime may be too late to carry out eligible testing.

🐄For cattle herds - we can coordinate your BVD testing with TB tests and other visits.

Our vets are making sure anyone who has previously had funded visits doesn't miss out, but it's not too late to take advantage - give us a ring on 01477571000 to get started claiming your funded visits and testing.

Time for alpaca pregnancy scanning!
🦙🦙🦙🦙🦙🦙

Autumn is a good time to carry out alpaca pregnancy scans, with 60-90 days since mating the ideal time to detect pregnancies. "Spitting off" is used by many owners as a pregnancy diagnostics method however around 15% females that 'spit off' may not be pregnant!!

Get clear answers and be prepared for unpacking - contact us to arrange pregnancy ultrasound scanning for your herd with our camelid vets Yasmine and Morgan.
