September is Pain Awareness Month!
This month, we’re focusing on something really important: learning to listen to what our pets are telling us about pain.
Our dogs and cats may not be able to tell us “that hurts”, but they communicate with us all the time. Changes in movement, behaviour, appetite, sleep, interaction and everyday routines can all be ways of saying “something isn't right.”
The challenge is learning to understand what they're telling us.
While Pain Awareness Month is directed at highlighting and understanding human pain, we will be looking at the different ways our pets communicate pain, the link between pain and behaviour, and why recognising these subtle changes can make such a difference to their comfort and quality of life.
They can tell us they're in pain. We just need to learn how to listen.

🐾 RECALL WORKSHOP – COME WHEN YOU’RE CALLED! 🐾
Does your dog have selective hearing when you call them? 😂
Would you love to be able to give your dog more freedom while feeling confident they’ll come back when called?
Then this 90-minute practical Recall Workshop is for you! 🐶💨
We’re teaming up for this workshop, bringing years of experience working with dogs and their humans. We’ll show you practical, reward-based techniques to help you build a recall that works in the real world — not just when there are no distractions!
💙 And absolutely NO judgement!
Whether your dog:
🐶 Has never learnt a proper recall
🐶 Comes back… when they feel like it! 😉
🐶 Gets distracted by EVERYTHING
🐶 Would rather chase squirrels than listen to you
🐶 Struggles around other dogs
🐶 Has a decent recall but you want to make it more reliable
Everyone is welcome.
We’ll work with you and your dog at their own level, helping you understand why recall breaks down and, more importantly, what you can do about it.
You'll leave with practical skills and exercises you can continue working on at home and out on walks.
Because a reliable recall = more freedom for your dog and less stress for you! ❤️

When we throw a ball for our dogs we dont always understand the impact its having on their joints.
Here in slow motion you can see how Rhona's body is having to suddenly stop and twist. Persistent ball throwing can cause musculoskeletal issues as well as a compulsive behaviour within the brain.

I limit mine to odd occasions ..

Don't just take our word for it..
