🤍 Meet Molly 🤍

After winning our latest vote, it’s time to introduce our lovely Molly! 🤎

Molly is 31 years young and is one of our little old ladies here at The Ark. She is such a sweet, gentle girl, but she can be quite shy until she gets to know you. Back at the yard she’s much more sociable and comfortable around us, but when she’s out in the field, Molly very much likes to do her own thing! She’ll come over for a fuss and a cuddle when she decides she wants one, and she can occasionally be a little cheeky when it’s time to be caught! 😂

For her age, Molly has always been rather healthy and has never given us much to worry about. She doesn’t have many teeth left these days, so you’ll often spot her chewing her hay before dropping little balls of it back out! Because of this, she gets plenty of big, yummy feeds, particularly throughout the winter, to make sure she gets everything she needs and keeps her weight on 🤎

Molly has always had a hard time fitting in with other horses but she has found a friend in Moe 🧡 Moe is also 31, and the two of them are rarely far apart. Whether they’re grazing side by side, grooming each other or simply mooching around the field together, our two little old ladies are the best of friends🐴

As Molly gets older, we are beginning to notice some of those little signs that she may be starting to feel her age. We don’t know what the future holds or whether we’ll be lucky enough to have another winter with her, but for now she is surrounded by people who love her, with her best friend by her side, and we’ll continue making sure she is happy and comfortable for as long as she tells us she is 🤎

At 31, she may be getting a few more grey hairs, but we think she’s just as beautiful as ever 🤎

🤍 Remembering Our Horses 🤍

Over the many years that The Ark has been caring for horses and ponies, we’ve sadly had to say goodbye to many very special faces along the way.

Each one has been a part of The Ark’s story and has left behind their own memories with the people who knew, cared for and loved them. We wanted to make this post to remember them all and to show that they’ll never be forgotten 🤍

🌱 Field maintenance! 🌱

We’ve been busy w**d spraying our field this week, getting everything prepared and ready for seeding once we finally get some much-needed rain! 🌧️🌱

Now we just need the weather to cooperate! 🤞🌧️🐴🤍

🤍 Horses Rehomed from The Ark 🤍

Over the many years that The Ark has been caring for horses and ponies, we have been lucky enough to see many of them leave us to begin the next chapter of their lives in loving new homes.

We thought it would be lovely to look back at some of the horses and ponies who have been rehomed from The Ark over the years 🤍

There are many more who have been rehomed over the years, but unfortunately we don’t have photographs of them all. Some others we know to have been rehomed include:

We would love to hear from anyone who has owned, cared for or known any of these horses since they left us. If you have any photos, memories or updates on how they’re getting along, please share them with us in the comments! 🤍

As some of these rehomings go back many years, we also understand that sadly some may no longer be with us. If so, we would still love to hear about the lives they went on to have, and we send our love to everyone who loved and cared for them. 🤍🌈
