🩷 Bella the gorgeous Pomeranian visited us for X-rays and then returned for her recheck appointment. We were delighted to see her again and make sure she's recovering well! 🐾

✨ Pomeranian Fact: Despite their small size, Pomeranians are descended from much larger sled-pulling Spitz dogs and are known for their big personalities, intelligence, and confidence!

We hope to see you feeling your best again soon, Bella! 🩷🐶

At Sage Vets, we’re often asked a simple question: “Does my pet really need parasite treatment all year round?”

The short answer is yes but the why depends on your pet, your lifestyle, and the changing risks we now see locally in Loughton and the surrounding area of Epping Forest.

In the past few weeks alone, we have removed multiple ticks from dogs locally, particularly in and around Epping Forest.

Dogs are more at risk because:
🦟Ticks live in grassland, woodland, and leaf litter
🦟They attach as dogs brush past vegetation, particularly in forested areas such as Epping Forest

Most tick bites cause local irritation, but ticks can also transmit disease (though this remains less common in the UK than in some other regions).

If you are unsure which protection is best for your pet, the team at Sage Vets is always happy to provide tailored advice based on your pet’s individual needs and lifestyle.

🌿 Hello June! 🌞

With longer walks, warmer weather, and more time outdoors, June is the perfect reminder to keep your pets protected against parasites. We’re already seeing an increase in ticks locally around Loughton and Epping Forest, so now is the time to make sure your pet’s prevention is up to date.

If you’re unsure what protection your pet needs, our team is always here to help 🐾
