⚠️🌡️ Heat Warning – Protect Your Pets 🌡️⚠️
With the current extreme weather warning in place, pets are at a much greater risk of developing heatstroke, which can quickly become a life-threatening emergency.
🐾 Avoid walking dogs during the day – stick to early mornings or late evenings
🐾 Ensure pets always have access to fresh water and cool, shaded areas
🐾 Never leave pets in a car, even for a short time
🐾 Keep exercise to a minimum during the hottest parts of the day
Signs of heatstroke can include:
❗ Excessive panting
❗ Drooling
❗ Weakness or lethargy
❗ Vomiting or diarrhoea
❗ Collapse or seizures
If you notice any of these signs, move your pet to a cool area, offer small amounts of water and contact a vet immediately.
💙 If your pet needs to be seen, or you already have an appointment with us, please be reassured that our practice is fully air conditioned, providing a cool and comfortable environment for both you and your pets during this hot weather.
Stay safe, stay cool, and please take extra care of your furry family members. 🐶🐱❄️
